South Dakotans: How do you feel about Johnson?

I have to say, I'm extremely disappointed, although I probably shouldn't have expected any better. The spouse of one of my co-workers is a legislative assistant for Johnson, and she said that he's been getting about a hundred calls a day in FAVOR of Alito and that, while he's also been getting calls against Alito, he didn't want to go against that.

Seems to me that, being a lawyer, he should know better and should know the danger Alito poses to the SUPCO and the country via his whole bullshit "unitary executive" theory which is found exactly NOWHERE in the Constitution he claims to so revere. It seems to me that he could have bucked his fear and done the right thing for the country, and not what was politically expedient. Now, Thune, of course, was a hopeless lost cause from the beginning (what an idiot he is, and a poor substitute for Daschle), but I did have at least some hope for Johnson. SIGH.
