Tonight's SOTU kicks of Midterm Election Campaign Season !
Can we please have a GD: Election 2006 up tomorrow ?

From Olbermann's e-list newsletter "Tonight on Countdown":

"Bush in Primetime"
We'll be doing the big ramp-up to the State of the Union tonight. Much of the show devoted to that.
Don't miss it.

President Bush is delivering his fifth State of the Union address Tuesday after arguably the worst year of his presidency, looking to reinvigorate confidence in his leadership and the U.S. role in the world. The speech gives the president an opportunity to lay out his agenda in this midterm election year directly to Congress and the American people. He will try to ease anxiety about continuing U.S. troop deaths in Iraq and the high price of fuel and health care that are dampening Americans' view of the economy. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11110276/

Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann broadcasts LIVE at 8 pm et, and the count is never complete without you. Join us.

2. Frist and the "gang" held a press conference to lay the ground work
they have been busy bee's putting together some way to screw us with health care and have briefed blivet** on that plan today. this speech will be about war, health care, jobs, economy, and 9/11.

Listen to the health care talk closely, as it will be the next front to fight on.

3. And why it's important we... don't stop thinking about
tomorrow :hi:

Maybe we, as a DU family, can focus on midterms with the same focus as GD:Alito!

Damn, just want to harness this "fire in our bellies" to take back our country, aka Congress, in November.

Let's get started (grouphug)

5. I agree, and we need the other blogs as well.

Mydd.com, dailykos.com, swingstateproject.com, americablog, just for starters.

I would add the judiciary hearings set to begin tomorrow, as well.

talking points and different action assignments, and make collective concerted pushes on each of the major issues, and do it earlier, like, a month or two in advance. Like the media hit squad we seem to be forming with the Open Letters to Chris Matthews, Tim Russert, and the Washington Post.

8. I think a GD: Election 2006 dedicated forum
could achieve that !?!

I'd just hate to see us go back to simple General Discussion and/or Politics.

10. DU is back to lobby-normal now....!
And back to GD and GD-P, now that I think of it, probably the best for our community.

Those of us who wish to concentrate on 2006 should start making noise on:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=108

and/or your state forums.

Can't wait for the SOTU thread tonight, c'ya's later :hi:
