so is there even a point to getting the senate back |
|
after yesterday, it's apparent that they wouldn't support an impeachment out of fear of offending their so-called 'red state' constituients

1. The reason we want the Senate back... |
|
...is because Clarence Thomas has been on the bench for some 16 years now. He can't stay there forever. Same goes for Antonin Scalia.
When they retire or become too ill to stay on the bench, we need a Democratic Senate waiting to approve the next Supreme Court justice so we can start reversing the damage.

2. but would they do the right thing? |
|
Seems like the senate approved Scalia 98-0, and Roberts by more than 2-1. Many of these folks wouldn't oppose W's choices even if dems held 90 seats. Unfortunately, the only real way to stop Alito, Thomas and their ilk is to control the presidency.
And Thomas ain't gonna leave until they drag his cold, dead body from his seat. He has said as much. And he is not that old.

3. It's going to be a long and complicated process |

First we must vote out all the Republican Senators we can. Then we must weed out the Democrats on the Hill who stepped back and allowed this to happen.
