WAKE UP!: The Rio Grande Will Not Protect You From This Explosion!
Why is this repression carried out against the popular movement of Oaxaca? And why now? What happened that exhausted the “tolerance” of the federal authorities? Basically there is one reason: in less than a week the Chief Executive will take power in the middle of a huge crisis of legitimacy. Felipe Calderon demanded that Vincent Fox, since he had not resolved the conflict of Oaxaca, at least leave the social movement weakened enough to guarantee a future for negotiation under conditions favorable to the government. With prisoners and persecuted persons, one would imagine that reaching an agreement with the demonstrators would be easier and cheaper. Calderon demanded that it be the outgoing administration and not the incoming one that pays the price of disrepute for the repression of Oaxaca. In summary: that the way would be cleared. In this way, Calderon was able to discourage the massive presence of Oaxacans who would have contested his assumption of power during the coming first days of December.

Anyone who employs Mexican Nationals or smokes pot knows how porous the southern border is.

(AND I AM NOT SPEAKING WITH THE MENTALITY OF OUR RW MINUTEMEN FRIENDS HERE)

THIS IS SERIOUS AND WILL EXPLODE ON DECEMBER 1st LESS THAN TWO DAYS!

PEOPLE ARE BEING KILLED AND TERRORIZED!

6. I don't know the schedule but believe so. And, government violence
against the protesters in Oaxaca has been ratcheted up! It's not yet being reported (if it ever gets reported, ) but they're now firing on the people, disappearing them, hauling them clear to the other side of the country and throwing them in jail with hardened criminals.

The heat is on and I'm afraid of how many people's lives will be ruined or lost in the coming weeks.

8. Definitely. I was able to listen to the University Radio broadcasts
a little over the weekend and that's why I know that what the AP is reporting is a work of fiction. Rightwing fiction.

10. We should figure out who if anyone up here is putting together
an event for Friday. Or do vigils at the Consulates or the Federal buildings or something.

It's hard to summon outrage any more when our so called "news outlets" fail to cover the people. It's a waste of time, I guess, and energy that can be better spent in direct action.
