Just had an ephiphany here....re: George Bush and his drinking
For some reason, I was just sitting here thinking about George Bush and his drinking habits which of course have been documented/discused.

And I got to thinking: how is it that George Bush turned out to be a drunk AND a liar?

Most people tend to tell the truth and tell it all once they've had a few drinks! People tend to tell all their business once they've had a drink.

So you would think that with his hx of drinking, he would be a more truthful person.

Just a thought...me rambling, really. Maybe it's time I go to bed.

1. Except that alcoholics who claim they aren't drinking when they are
are accomplished, profligate liars. Sounds like Bush to me.

2. 'Cause one of the few mixtures he doesn't drink is Veritas-Serum.

That's the potion they make you drink in the Harry Potter books, to compel you to tell the truth. Clearly a drink that's never passed bush's lips.

3. Alcoholics lie all the fricking time.
Most addicts lie often in order to cover up & continue their addiction. Maybe that's how he learned to be so comfortable w/it.

4. no you're wrong about that
for the non addict it may be true that in vino veritas, but for the ADDICT then the drinking is necessarily intertwined with the lying

addicts lie, it is what they do, first and foremost, they lie to themselves, they lie to their families, they lie to their employers and their employees, and apparently they lie to their country

they just lie because it's all about covering the ass so they can keep the booze flowing
