1. I think the context indicates he said that the plane was shot down by terrorists, not the US Airforc
Of course, if that's true, then that opens up a whole new list of questions, doesn't it?

3. Rummy likes to feed conspiracy theorists.
He made similar spooky comments about the pentagon crash.

8. Yeah, but it still sounds like he slipped.
Of course, people still say that the WTC got "bombed" on 9/11 (and, no, they're not referring to the first incident).

6. I still don't know what make of the Rick Gibney story
http://www.xenophilia.com/str_polit_jun_04.htm

I think Rummy would be much happier if the plane had landed in "Congress".

15. The Canadian Sec Def claimed "they helped us shoot down that flight"
In a briefly aired meeting I heard the Canadian defense minister say those words. They were worried wether Canadian Air force could be trusted in a negotiation over Airbases(?) a year after 9/11. The Canadians were boastfull of having helped during 9/11 & he did refer to a airliner being shot down by their jets. Never saw that piece of video again-Anyone??

17. Rummy knows he can be truthful on occasions
Edited on Wed Nov-29-06 11:17 AM by rman
because he knows perceived mainstream opinion has it that 'it can't be true'.
If he'd be truthful all the time, people would become suspicious.

18. Evidence that it was shot down:
A debris field eight miles wide.

Telephone testimony from passenger William Felt about white smoke shortly before the crash.

Some phone calls and tapes end with whooshing sound of wind.

9/11 Commission claims that the crash was at 10:03 while seismic evidence says 10:06--consistent
with gov't holding back the last three minutes of the tape.

The C-130H that was 17 miles away from Shanksville at 10:03 would have been right there at 10:06.
Same C-130H claimed to have observed flight 77 flying into the Pentagon.
