A friend's son is going to Iraq in January ... thoughts.
Attn Agent Mike .... I will not say what branch he is in or what his unit is.

I have know her for over 20 years, I dated he sister some time ago, and last night
I talked to her (let her talk) that she has to go and see her son around his base
for Christmas. They are not letting the troops go home because they are on
stand by. They just got their overseas shots too. He signed up for one thing
with the recruiter and now he is a Hummer Driver, for a rapid response team.

My friend, her husband, and her daughter are going to the base area to cook a
Christmas meal for her son and his friends. Good chance that this meal might
be the last Christmas meal for some who will attend the dinner.

I have changed my thoughts on what the dems should do once they take power
in January, expose, investigate, and if possible impeach. Time to stop the madness
of having Americans go and be killed or have to kill for; lies, bush's inability to
admit a mistake, and a lost cause.

From what I could gather there will be one big massive push by our military
before we get out ..... damn what a waste.

Just thoughts.

2. Of course we all
hope he comes home safely. But if he enlisted any time after we invaded Iraq, it would have been incredibly naive of him to think he could be guaranteed not having to go there.

If young people would stop enlisting altogether, if they'd stop listening to the lies of the recruiters, and if our military really were faced with the need for a draft to maintain their numbers, then, maybe then, there'd be a profound understanding that war is never the answer.

And I do understand there are many reasons why young people enlist, and that military service can be an honorable and worthwhile profession. But not now, not this war.

3. Is he thinking about resisting?
a year in prison is probably a lot better than a year in Iraq.
