Attn: Christians: You do not own Christmas-China Does. (Quick rant on this and globalization)
I just posted this quick 5 minute rant here: http://regulus2.azstarnet.com/comments/index.php?id=158137
www.azstarnet.com ® |

Thought it was worthy of reposting it here for your thoughts.

We're already merged (with Canada and Mexico) it's called NAFTA. I keep saying this over and over again but the sound of the xenophobic right (Harry's crowd) and the anti-globalization left are louder than me.

I am not a huge fan of globalization, but it's here to stay it's not going anywhere the world's richest say it stays so it stays. Illegal immigration is a huge factor in this but rather than as a nation ordering any investigations on who is actually profiting from this practice and ultimately the overall practice of exploiting third world nations who are the primary source of labor of what has become global standard business practice we just keep shopping at Wal-Mart, keep believing those commercials that tell us that nothin's more America ass kickin than a Chevy baby.

I hear Christians complaining about how those of us who vote to the left of the Westboro Baptist church are trying to kill Christmas when in fact it doesn't belong to you or me or anyone in America for that matter-it belongs to the Chinese and they thank you for your contributions this holiday season.

This isn't socialist or capitalist liberal or conservative this is reality people. What's the solution? too complicated to insert it here but a re-examining of this country's priorities where it adheres to human capital and business practices and policies would be a start I believe.

Where to start? the old adage: Follow.The.Money.

1. Mostly, they don't own the several weeks around the
winter solstice. The rest of us live here, too, and many of us have our own holidays that are completely separate from the Christian one.

It's a real shame that so many Christians feel they should be able to go through life without being offended by anyone else's existence.

And no, I'm not talking about the ones who post here. They've already come to terms with being offended.

2. I think you got my point though
Overall point was to tie in how even Christmas is part of the globalization rule but rather than deal with this reality and work to alter the situation people would rather join bill o'really around the tree and create battle plans to go after those of us who don't place a Chinese-made baby jesus figure under our trees.
