North America

All of the Canadian cities covered by the survey appear in the top 20 rankings for personal safety and security. Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver rank jointly in position 18 with scores of 112.

In the US, Honolulu, Houston, Lexington, San Francisco, and Winston Salem rank highest in joint 45th position with scores of 104. Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Portland, and New York all follow in 58th place with scores of 100. The lowest scoring city in North America is Atlanta, ranked 90 with a score of 90.5, due to street crime and burglary.

2. Well me, I'd say it's our belligerant foreign policy of slaughtering
innocent men, women & children.

But hey, that's just me (and most the world.)

5. houston, highest usa city for quality of life
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 05:41 PM by pitohui
must be smokin some of that houston crack and then played in that houston traffic too long

sounds fairly bogus to me

okay, just read the whole thing and it's total bullshit

for one thing, any major city where you had widespread destruction of the town being wiped out and numbers of people being killed, such as gulfport, biloxi, and new orleans, have to rate lower on the list of quality of life -- as in you lost your home or you maybe even died -- well below atlanta, where many people actually took refuge

it's just crap

they arbitrarily decide new york is in the middle, maybe new york is actually one of the better cities for its size, what that does to their little numbers game?
