Question? I'm guessing that with cable TV the networks can get
readings of who is watching what. I don't want to give ** good viewing ratings, so my question is when they repeat it on CSpan, do they track second showings or just the first real time viewing?

1. As far as I know
Only Neilson ratings are used.

2. That's what I thought, but when they have numbers like
39,000 watched, that is a number not just a Neilson rating...So I think they track viewing..

4. I think they go by percentages for those figures
If the cable companies could track this on their own it would put Nielson out of business, and they are still very much in business. I interviewed for a job with them about six months ago.

And there are still people who watch broadcast television, believe it or not. Those can't be counted. For now, anyway.

while I listen to the speech courtesy of
Air America's

That'll confound them! :)

5. CSPAN is not included in ratings
To the best of my knowledge. I always watch it on cspan so I don't have to listen to the talking heads tell me what I just heard. Plus after the SOTU they take calls and you can get the pulse of the nation.
