I know we don't like missing/murdered white girl stories here, but this one has been big in Georgia and been a hot topic on several boards, political or not.

1. Mischaracterization. It's not a question of not liking

"missing/murdered white girl stories" (though who does "like" hearing about missing and murdered people?)

It's the way those stories are exploited to the exclusion of news that does affect the nation. It's the way the lives of non-whites are devalued when the death/disappearance of a white girl is headlined around the nation as if some great crime had been committed against the world. ("they're attacking our white women!")

Pointing out the use of propaganda and the disparity, - the obvious prejudice - does not equate to "not liking" - it does translate into outrage at such a tactic - at such mentalities that feed hate and the appeal to prejudice of the viewing audience
