Thursday evening brain teasers - easier than last week's :-)

1. Proving 1 = 2

let a = 1 and
b = 1

therefore

a = b

multiply both sides of equation by a:

a^2 = ab

subtract b^2 from each side

a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2

factor

(a+b) (a-b) = b (a-b)

divide by (a-b)

a+b = b

substitute

1 + 1 = 2

What's the catch? :D

This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious how quickly you can find out what actually is so unusual about it. It looks so plain and normal you would think nothing is wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!
