Homeland Security tracks travelers' meals

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Without notifying the public, federal agents have assigned millions of international travelers, including Americans, computer-generated scores rating the risk they pose of being terrorists or criminals.

The travelers are not allowed to see or directly challenge these risk assessments. The government intends to keep the scores on file for 40 years.

The scores are assigned to people entering and leaving the United States after computers assess their travel records, including where they are from, how they paid for tickets, their motor vehicle records, past one-way travel, seating preference and what kind of meal they ordered.

The program's existence was quietly disclosed earlier in November when the government put an announcement detailing the Automated Targeting System, or ATS, for the first time in the Federal Register, a fine-print compendium of federal rules.

3. I always get the vegetarian meal
Because it tends to be more flavorful than the other entrees. Considering DHS's history of investigating vegetarians, I suppose I'm screwed, eh?

I wonder whether aisle- or window-sitters are considered to be more of a terrorist threat.

10. aisle beyond a doubt
if you want freedom to move around, the aisle it is

federal air marshalls also prefer aisle seats forward and preferably in first although i have been seated next to an FAM in coach (but pretty near first)

4. Seating preferences???
:wtf:

I take a window seat if I want to look at the scenery or don't want people climbing over me all the time. I'll take an aisle seat if I think I'll need to do a lot of stretching. I usually don't want a center seat because that's the most uncomfortable.

But usually, I have to take whatever seat the airline wants to give me.

Sheeeeesh.

4: Dont Pray, for the love of God, dont pray.
5: Dont mention President Bush*t even in passing.
6: Dont have a long beard.
7: Dont say your a member of the ACLU.
8: Dont say your a fan of Michael Moore.
9: Take along your NRA card.

8. Order booze? At $4 a pop?
Is this the government's way of "encouraging" passengers to help out the airline companies? :+ :+ :+

11. if you must sit in first and be a terrorist the booze is free
if for some reason you do find yourself in first be SURE not to ever turn down the free booze even if it be 5 in the ay-em

you wouldn't want 'em to think you're a muslim or mormon terrarist ya know

i pitohui have always followed this advice and i haven't been gitmo'd yet! :-)

anyway if it's before 8 AM you can always order a bloody mary without loss of dignity

if a champagne bottle is open you can get a mimosa but this seems to never happen on my flights, maybe once it did, i REALLY need to spend more time on those asian carriers
