Great JOB Brownie! FEMA rejected Dept. of the Interior Resources!
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 08:21 PM by Thtwudbeme
Documented for those Right Wing Son of a Bitches who fail to grasp the intentional harm placed on the neediest of our fellow HUMAN BEINGS.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/01/30/katrina.fema/

"The Interior Department offered FEMA 500 rooms, 119 pieces of heavy equipment, 300 dump trucks and other vehicles, 300 boats, 11 aircraft and 400 law enforcement officers, according to a questionnaire answered by a department official.

Interior law enforcement officers included special agents and refuge officers from the department's Fish and Wildlife Service.

"Although we attempted to provide these assets, we were unable to efficiently integrate and deploy these resources," an Interior Department official wrote the Senate committee investigating the government's response to Katrina."

Let me please add that I have worked my ASS off trying to facilitate locally funded housing vouchers for the truly destitute (I mean the Elderly, the Disabled, the Emotionally Devistated) displaced Gulf Residents in NC. It's been a nightmare for me which PALES when compared with what those unfortunate fellow PEOPLE (Ie. COMRADES, dammit, that word needs to be LEARNED by Amerikans) have had to deal with. I'm just a dipshit local planner that's had to convince my bosses that money that could be used for our OWN evil problem caused by our scumbag economic/political system creates, and ignores, INTENTIONALLY.

FEMA has been a nightmare to deal with. They've intentionally (Don't tell me it's incompetance because I KNOW that their regional people have been give shitty ordres, period. It's top down you fools) forced relocation actions on Local governments hundreds of miles away with the promise of future reimbursement.

Fuck Bush and the evil mother fuckers that placed him in POWER.

PS~ This is Jan Michael not Steph, sorry I forgot to log her off and me on...

2. It's like nobody gives a SHIT about 200,000-500,000 displaced people.
A BIG US city DIES and it's like everybody, on a LIBERAL message board too, have moved on to the next bright light.

I've heard stories about folks (Ussually elderly and likely disabled) stuck in new metro areas, with shiny happy helpers that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to POVERTY, that have NEVER driven a car and now they have to deal with either driving (Nice if they had a car, but wait, they've never DRIVEN) or dealing with shitty PUBLIC transportation in their new "host" cities.

I call BULLSHIT.

Zombie-like mother fuckers.

3. Photos of flooded school buses is the truth. Come on Michael.
It's the image that's the truth, to hell with what actually happened. The incorrect headline today is tomorrow's page 245245 correction.

Yeah, that's cynical, but the cynical is the truth with this band of assholes.

4. Reality is lost.
It's gone.

But it's still reality!
