Or just send Cheney hunting in Willis, Texas.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/120206dnmetutdstudent.336ebbb.html

A federal judge in Dallas on Friday ordered a 19-year-old University of Texas at Dallas student to remain in custody on a firearms charge after prosecutors said he was linked to two Houston men who wanted to fight for the Taliban.

Federal authorities allege that Syed Maaz Shah joined the other men over several days in January to train with assault rifles in a rural area near Willis, Texas, north of Houston. The goal of the two Houston men was to "hone their skills with weapons to assist fighters engaging United States forces in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq," according to conspiracy indictments for Kobie Williams, 33, and Adnan Babar Mirza, 29.

Shah's hearing Friday, authorities said he is a close associate of the Houston men, who they said were trying to form a mini-mujahedeen aimed ultimately at fighting against U.S. forces with the Taliban.

John McKinley, an FBI counterterrorism agent from Houston, testified that Mr. Shah was photographed participating in guerrilla combat training and using assault weapons. In a secretly recorded conversation, federal officials say, the group talked about jihad, or Islamic holy war.

3. So these guys did some target shooting?
I always enjoy it when some quarry where guys are popping off a few rounds becomes a "terrorist training camp."

4. US Attorney in TX: "no real contact w/ terrorist groups"
Edited on Sat Dec-02-06 07:37 PM by rainbow4321
Ok, so we have a local official saying just this past week that there's been no contact w/ these groups and yet the feds are going full speed ahead to charge them? Guess chimp's administration is continuing to grasp at straws in their Chicken Little "terrah, terrah, terrah" threats. Wonder if this US Attorney is now "re-assigned" or "taking off to spend more time with his family"

From same article:

Earlier this week, U.S. Attorney Donald J. DeGabrielle Jr., from the Southern District of Texas in Houston, said neither Mr. Williams nor Mr. Mirza had any real contact with terrorist groups. He said the investigation was nearly two years old and began with a referral from the U.S. Border Patrol.
