Be prepared to get really angry.....(photos from National Geographic)
....from the article "The Heroes, The Healing: Military Medicine From the Front Lines to the Home Front. Words cannot come close to describing the rage I feel toward the cowardly Little Monkey and his familiars and minions. These are my brothers and sisters (including the Iraqis).

Speaker Pelosi, this unspeakable waste of a zygote and his whole filthy crew must be removed and incarcerated for the remainder of their miserable lives.

10. I don't.
Our new friend's other two posts have been, shall we say,
"less than encouraging".

In particular, his statement that the ACLU "should change
its name to the "Mexican Civil Liberties Union" really makes
me think that he won't be posting here for long.

2. Just a huge empty sadness.
Only the helo is different. Other than that it seems this could be forty years ago, man... The one with the corpsman writing 0 pulse brought a tear to my eye, I got to tell you. Every war, I suppose the veterans think that will be the end, we won't let the fools do this again to our kids, not without a damn good reason...

but the no pulse refers to distal pulse-the patient has no pulse in the lower leg...this is to warn the doctors of vascular damage that needs immediate attention...

5. Each picture says a thousand words....
and brings a thousand tears.

People need to see the pictures of the Iraqis along with these of our troops. It is so sad.

Where is the outrage of our citizens? All this for the lies and greed of the chimp and his hoard who desire the New World Order. Yeah, it makes me angry, damn angry. I just want it to end, for people to wake up, for us to have our country back.

35. Wake up?
You gotta be kidding. The sheeple are too busy standing in line in the cold and dark for the latest X Box 3 to keep them happy. What's more important, our kids dying in Iraq and Afganistan or murkins playing video games? The murkin public are generally made up of assholes. Don't expect outrage until 56,000 American troops die in Iraq, just like in Viet Nam. Then maybe the assholes may finally get the message. Maybe.

38. The sick reality is that there would be many more dead
were it not for vast improvements in medicine since the Vietnam War. When I imagine myself in their shoes I think I would prefer my loved one coming back alive I don't care how severely maimed rather than not at all. That does not change the fact that upon their return these seriously injured young men face a difficult life as disabled Americans. Their suffering should not be forgotten as Americans consider the incredible and incredibly senseless cost of this war; just because they did not pay with their life, just because they did not increase the death toll does not mean that they did not and do not continue to suffer. Each one of those soldiers represents a devastated family back home, a family who will be paying the cost of the Iraq war with their tears for a long time to come.

for her changed life, and their lost dreams.. if she leaves, she'll be haunted for life and feel guilty..

If they stay together, they are probably doomed to a lifetime of lowered lifestyle. Whatever career he had before is most assuredly gone forever..

The future might indeed be drastically different career wise, but he may be the next Max Cleland, another vet who left three limbs on the battlefield.

Someone should wallpaper Duhbya's and Cheney's cells with these type of photos from floor to ceiling.

Give the fuckers something to think about while they serve out their long, long sentences...

30. Why aren't college students protesting this absurd 'war' of Dubyha's??
I have a son who is a senior at the University of Florida in Gainesville and he is amazed how conservative most students are and how by and large they supported the invasion of Iraq. Possibly the fact that ours is an all volunteer army has something to do with it - or maybe Faux News and hate radio has had more of an influence on so many of our young than I thought possible. What I know for certain is that the difference on college campuses from the late 60's and early 70's to today cant be measured in years.

It is true that far too many people our age are sickeningly apathetic. I had a friend tell me she wasn't going to vote because there wasn't any point. I wanted to throttle her, but there was nothing I could do to convince her otherwise.

if words can command, if words can manipulate, then words can hurt, then words can kill.

a lesson that should be engraved in everyone's brain: what you see at work here is the power of lies.

46. It is a crying shame that these men have lost half their lives in vain...
but a lot of these men still support the war and the president. It is really sorry for me to feel bad for people when such a gung-ho choice was made by them that they rejected us. I think we should simply forgive them for their stubbornes and ask for a second opinion. I just think it is really condesending to feel sorry for someone who doesn't want to be felt sorry for.

47. James Natchwey is the world's greatest living photojournalist
Like everyone else I was blown away by these pictures, and when I went to the NG web site to see who could have done work of such power, outrage and overwhelming humanity, it was no surprise whatever to see his name. I have a book of his called "Inferno" and even though I've owned it for half a dozen years, it's still the only book in my collection I have to prepare myself before opening. I am in awe of this man's ability to remain totally open to the meaning of what he's seeing as he puts himself into the midst of some of humanity's most horrifying situations. Natchwey exemplifies the photojournalist's sense of responsibility to share complex truth rather than simple beauty.

48. Devastating. Just heartbreaking.
 I keep hearing the soundtrack behind these pictures: the screams of pain, the horrified gasps of doctors and nurses as they catch their first sight of their patient, the terse and anquished decisions to amputate and the thump of limbs hitting the operating table as they are severed. But what might be even more painful is the silence of that 1000 yard stare or the dead space between the triple amputee and his SO sitting on the sofa.

Unfortunately these pictures and this article need to be shown to the armchair warriers, the keyboard kings and the rightwing blowhards like the freepers and the Hannity wannabes and the Rushbots. These need to be front and center for all Americans so we can fully understand this shameful chapter in our nation's history.

Most importantly of all, members of this Admin should be required to view each day's casualties in all their bloody glory. It should be mandatory. It enrages me that they can even say "stay the course" or "we won't be leaving the battlefield until we've won" if they aren't viewing the carnage every single stinking day.
