Did you know there is a channel on satellite TV called God TV?
I just watched one of their programs and it was all about how Hollywood is hurting the Christian religion. No wonder so many Christians are paranoid and want to fight to make Christianity the law of the land. They are being fed it at their church AND on their TV shows. And there were no commercials just a list of people and churches that paid for the show.

It is OK whatever people want to believe but this paranoid pounding by some of their leaders is really unfair to them and ultimately to the rest of us because it makes them more fearful.

They make it seem as if their own salvation is being threatened by secularism and that goes against the very teachings of of their religion!!???

Strange times we live in.

3. I just got Dish and I noticed the same thing! I was wondering where
these channels were when I was on cable because I didn't see them. It seems like Dish is being funded by the Christian Right.

7. Dish Network also has Free Speech TV and Comedy Central.
Don't think the Religious Right would allow either of these if they were running the network.

6. The cable providers have the same stuff
At least five religious channels, often more. And still the fundagelicals whine that they don't have enough "wholesome stuff" to watch.

10. No one is holding a gun
to their heads forcing them to watch something they don't want to. Newsflash for Fundies: God invented the "Off" button for a reason! But they want to dictate and legislate what everyone else watches.

11. Unlike the non religious channels, religious channels are being paid by cable and dish users to
promote the spread of their false, hate mongering, racial dogma. It's not a matter of freedom as much as it is that regardless if a person wants to view it or not, said persons are being forced to pay for the programs. It's not a matter of freedom when your not given a choice on if you want to pay for such channels. The main reason people went to cable and dish was to get more choice on what they view and they pay for the programing. How would you feel if every product you bought had scripture on it? You have a choice on reading it or not, but how happy would you be if said advertising paid for things like pro life and other fundie mandates and by buying said products you were supporting fundie activities? That is what cable and dish TV is doing to their customers.

13. I've said that a brazillion times
The RW is the one that claims they want small government and hates the "nanny state", yet they are the first in line screaming for the government to regulate TV/Movies/written media to the Nth degree. Funny how they'd scream if the government told them they couldn't read their Bibles, yet they think it's ok to tell other people they can't watch their soap operas.

9. Me too on DirecTV.
I think they should charge extra for them so those of us who don't want them on our TV don't have to get them. There are other Spanish language channels I would like to have but they charge extra for them. I would rather exchange those channels for the religious channels if I could.

2. Whats even more amazing is not only the followers been brained washed by
Hollywood's interpretation of the bible, but their religious leaders were also trained by the same gimmicks of TV showmanship. You ever notice that if HollyWood makes a religious movie such as "The Passion", Then they are ok with HollyWood. The hypocrisy of religion never fails to be amusing.

4. G-d tv? .....(vomit)
For fucks sake already. I have Dish Network, but I never noticed G-dtv, must be because I have edited my channels to those that I only watch, I never surf through the entire list. I thought TBN was enough for those clowns, I think I will send Dish Network a nasty gram since I would have to pay extra for Discovery Science and the Research Channel whereas it appears that Fraudtv is part of my package...fuck that.

8. My "happy gram" to Dish Network...
Hello,

I am a current subsciber to Dish Network and in the process of upgrading my home entertainment system. With that, I am also looking to ungrade my service to HD. But, it appears there is an issue that I need to address.

While looking through the HD packages it seems that from the 49 to $99 dollar packages, the same 4 religious channels (Angle One, Daystar, EWTN and TBN) are availiable. But if I want the Science Channel I have to subcribe to the $69 dollar package? If 4 religious and intellectually degrading channels are availible from top to bottom, then I suggest that the Science Channel and all other related channels be made availible from top to bottom as well.

I am not particularly fond paying for those religious channels ever month as it is and knowing that I have to spend more to get a channel that actually offers reality to my screen versus the myth-information in those 4 channels(Angle One, Daystar, EWTN and TBN) and the garbage thats passed as news on Fox(faux) News channel wasnt bad enough. I also have to pay for the religious propaganda brainwashing channels.

Yes, I know I have the power of the remote, but it doesnt change the fact that I have to pay for those worthless channels every month rather then something mentally stimulating that offers insight into reality.

15. I have one called God's Learning Channel
that's super hokey and yet strangely fascinating. It's mostly just this goofy old couple from Texas, Al and Tommie ... Cooper? sitting around talking to each other or their more or less goofy guests about Israel. They're obsessed with Israel. They sometimes have this woman named Faye on who seems especially loony in that she loves Bush AND spends all her time researching the conspiracies around him, like AbraNoff. She's a hoot.
