Anyone noticing the new attack ads against NET NEUTRALITY popping up?
Edited on Sun Dec-03-06 10:59 AM by blm
The cable and telecommunications pacs already started their ad campaigns against net neutrality - saw their ads this morning on both CNN and MSNBC.

They have been gearing up for this battle for some time and have been laying the groundwork to discredit the Democrat who will be leading the issue in the senate.

I hope Democrats start waking up to the media tactics and stop living in FEAR of the media. The time to move against the big, corporate media is NOW.

1. Yup...
Yet another corporate attack on the commons, and the Net should be part of the commons. It's time to reclaim it.

3. National Cable & Telecommunicatons Association
They're the ones we have to thank for these stupid ads. They've already been running for some time now. Here's a link:

4. One thing I have learned, when a computer geek is stopped, they
find an even more interesting way around it. It's not going to happen. Do you know how that would actually wake up young people... Revolution because of the internet.

6. Did you see the imagery used?
When the announcer said (paraphrasing) "Don't be fooled. Net Neutrality will only make SILICON VALLEY fat cats richer" they showed young, yuppie types in laughing it up in lavish settings or with dollar bills floating down on them.

Gawd the stuff they can get away with! I saw it yesterday on a Cox Cable channel in Salina KS. Since everyone has cable this is a very effective way of getting people who have no idea what the hell Net Neutrality is to have an initial negative reaction to the term.

We gotta watch the media congloms. They have way too much power now.

8. I saw it first time today in NC - incredibly twisted to fool people.
That seems to be the ONLY way the RW and fascists can SELL ANYTHING - with LIES.

Ever know them even ONCE to use the truth to sell a policy or a politician?

7. I've seen them for several weeks.
Orwellian double-speak at its best.

The cable companies are so kind to educate the ignorant masses.

9. TPM is against it. In the tepid way Marshall is against things, of course.
