TIME: * is "hung over" and ISG's work like a "family intervention for a substance-addicted cousin"
Analogy works, i guess...

From Time.com -->

He waited until he woke up, hung over, one morning at 40 before giving up booze cold. He fought the idea of a homeland-security agency for eight months after 9/11 and then scampered aboard and called it his idea.

But Bush has never had to pull off a U-turn like the one he is contemplating now: to give up on his dream of turning Babylon into an oasis of freedom and democracy and instead begin a staged withdrawal from Iraq, rewrite the mission of the 150,000 U.S. troops there as they begin to draw down, launch a diplomatic Olympics across the Middle East and restart the flagging peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.

<SNIP>

The Baker-Hamilton commission's work has been compared to family interventions for a substance-addicted cousin, but unlike those encounters, this one won't remain behind closed doors.

1. Wow!
looks like they've been reading DU. We've been saying this all along. Has the MSM found a pair?

4. "...MSM found a pair?" Unlikely. Stating the obvious is more like it. nt

2. Also unlike those encounters, this one is drowning in rivers of blood.
But hey, don't mind that. "Saving face" in the world (which of course is impossible now no matter what we do) is far more important than those who die as they bleed out into the sands of Iraq, every damn day.

3. this of course depends on those doing the intervening
being able to discern reality in iraq.

i'm as doubtful as that as i am the drug addled prince will make a decision that will benefit anyone else other than him.

our countries ''elites'' have something wrong with them -- and that makes us all in deep, deep trouble.

5. Lies got America in and lies will get America out
Because that's all America has left - lies.

It's the path our government chose - a path of lies and deceit that brought death and destruction.

No honor whatsoever in any of it.

6. Tell me TIME has not read the tea leaves of future investigations and disclosures...
... all these so-called impartial MSM have not been just silent, but rather enablers of the BushCo fiasco.

THey see the train wreck of Congressional Investigations coming down the track, and they alreadly know the explosive revelations that are sure to come out.

Just like the NeoCons who are distancing themselves from this White House and "its" war in Iraq, look for more MSM sources to copy the same technique.

Will be interested reading, but there is blame to bear on their behalf --and I hope people here and across the country will remember that when it comes time to break up the MSM monopolistic empires.
