What is a good prescription discount plan?
I have a prescription that costs me $90 per month. Anyone ever use one of those discount prescription plans that they have on TV? Who are they, anyone know?

1. no idea, but I just helped a relative
try to get new information for her annual 'pick' of a Medicare Plan B package - the formulary on hers was changed - and the extra 'donut hole' coverage she paid for turns out to be a bit of a joke (only covers generics - of which hers are not too expensive) at quite a high price (while still having to pay full price for the more costly ones). The medicare website was a joke - the supposed 'find a formulary that matches your needs' function doesn't work - in the end she is going to have to go plan by plan - by phone.

All this because her prescription benefit plan (that she paid extra for) was ended in Dec of 05 - all enrollees were given a month ... told the plan was ending and if they wanted coverage they HAD to go to Medicare Plan B (at more expense).

Grrrr.

Doesn't answer your question, but you gave me a place to vent my renewed frustration on this issue.

Good luck - hope someone has some good info for you.

3. Yeah, my prescription has not been produced as a generic yet
Now, if I needed viagra, that would be a different story.

2. Have you tried prescription drugs by mail?
When I was using a monthly prescription drug, the cheapest way to get them was to order three months worth through mail-order.

The prescription cards being advertised on TV basically gives a 20-30% discount off of drug store prices. Still a pretty pricey way to go.
