Poll question: setting aside all the parsing, triangulating, cult worship, etc., do you agree:
1. The invasion of Iraq was illegal.

2. The bush cabal lied repeatedly about the reasons for invading.

3. The occupation of Iraq is illegal.

4. The bush cabal have committed crimes, both under US and international law.

5. George Bush deserves impeachment.

3. Yes, I agree - and Dems would be smart to USE Bush's violation of the IWR as grounds
for impeachment.

Bush was required to send them a truthful statement as ALL official letters to congress must be - he lied and everyone knows it now.

7. When Nancy Pelosi said they wouldn't pursue impeachment,
she did not add-to us-and y'all shut up about it, too.

The way to get the criminal cabal impeached is not for the legislature to set it up and give the opposition a way to kill it but to leave it hanging out there to get us infuriated over.

Two things will then happen, one being that we will bitch about it to everyone we meet, convincing more than a few wingers in the process. Of course, as more and more of their nefarious deeds come to light, even the more or less moderate wingers will get pissed and stare clamoring for justice.

Eventually a two thirds majority will want to rip off a few heads and, at that time, they will allow themselves to be persuaded to bring charges.

14. Long past need for Congressional investigation. Draft Articles and Present the Case. Now.
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 08:03 PM by pat_k
Repeat of reply to marmar's http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=103&topic_id=250086&mesg_id=250086">Robert Scheer: Becoming What We Despise:

Hey, Congress, draft Articles of Impeachment and present the case, NOW!

Bush and Cheney are committing their war crimes and conducting their criminal domestic surveillance program in plain sight.

The orders that turned Americans into torturers originate with Bush and Cheney.

Under the color of law, Americans are torturing other human beings. Right Now.

We are long past the need for "investigation." It is time for Members of Congress to draft Articles of Impeachment and make the case. It has been "time" for years. Continued and unnecessary delay is dereliction.

The leaders we charge with duty of supporting and defending the Constituion, and in whom we entrust the powers required, have been failing us for decades. Their failure to take extraordinary action to stop the insanity and abuses of a tiny cabal has allow that cabal to corrupt and subvert our most treasured institutions and principles. The cabal is so tiny that, without fail, when we pull back the covers, we find that their every egregious "achievement" -- from Nixon's grab for Unconstitutional powers, through Iran-Contra, and into our current crises -- is driven by one or more of a dozen or so core players.

If we weren't witnessing the results, it would be beyond belief. The accumulated lawless acts and abuses have turned our vision of a "more perfect union" into "America, the War Criminal Nation."

When our leaders fail to serve us as charged, it is up to We the People to assert our sovereignty and demand they carry out the duty we have charged them with.

There is no higher priority than saying NO to "America the War Criminal Nation" by doing everything in our power to challenge each and every Member ofthe House to act NOW and take up the fight by introducing or co-sponsoring Articles of Impeachment.
