Another Hint that Al Gore is running for President in 2008
http://www.dailynews.com/entertainment/ci_4762344

Al Gore looked like he might be campaigning for more than an Oscar nomination when he hit GQ Magazine's Men of the Year dinner on Wednesday night.
He gave bear hugs to Magic Johnson and Spike Lee, who were in the midst of a very analytical discussion about basketball, before he worked the cocktail party at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

And he had a kind word for everyone.

"Leo's as passionate and knowledgeable about the environment as I am," Gore told MSNBC's Keith Olbermann as they discussed "An Inconvenient Truth" and the situation in Iraq with Leonardo DiCaprio. "You should have him on your show."

"I loved 'The Last King of Scotland,' '' he told Forest Whitaker, as he ate a piece of prosciutto hamwrapped around a black fig and accidentally toppled a stack of napkins. "You deserve an award."

He was also very humble.

"Thank you for having me in your current issue because I don't belong in this company," Gore told GQ editors. "And the interview was right on!"

That would be the one where Gore discloses that he hasn't ruled out a run for the presidency in 2008.

9. Right Now I;m Listening To John Lennon & What You Just Said Is
so John Lennon! Lennon was connected to his soul and it comes through in his music, and there's a quiet feeling that Gore is to some extent like Lennon when in one of his songs he sings "I'm just sitting here watching the world go round" so perhaps that's what Gore is doing. I'm not sure he will really "bite" but the fact that his name is being brought up as a contender to Clinton is interesting.

Bill WOWS the crowd, but Gore has the most integrity. What Al has done "silently" has been completely effective and on par with what The Clinton's have done while still political "superstars." And I take nothing away from Bill Clinton or Hillary either. Politics is all about how one "plays the game" to some extent. Even when on the same team different strategies are played. Many made fun of Jimmy Carter, but as time has gone by, he has made the world aware that he's a true humanitarian and that he was right about saving energy. I think Bill Clinton and Al Gore do respect each other and really like each other, but Hillary is who Bill will support and they have built a real machine. I'm sure there are some here will be able to show me how I'm wrong about Gore/Clinton relationship, but I just feel that way and don't think it's something that needs to be argued. Lots of people may well think differently, but that's okay.

Gore REALLY did WIN in 2004, I doubt many Repukes would disagree if they gave it a minute of thought, and some have. For some strange reason, and I wasn't aware of it when Gore was VP, Gore was never an ineffective as a VP but that's when I saw a "spike" in the vengeance on a wide spread level to play some pretty nasty "politikkin" and if you got enough money you could go for the jugular. And it sold. It was the beginning of "Swiftboating" and that "nasty" stink that you smelled every once in a while started to grow and grow, and HERE WE ARE TODAY!

Sweet Justice, he's earned it but maybe he knows it himself and is going to go out a WINNER! Either way, I like Al Gore and would vote for him, and I would love to see a Gore/Edwards ticket, but don't think it will be.

5. "It's great to see Al Gore, but Lindsay Lohan's the sexiest person here..."
But not all of the evening's honorees... put Gore at the top of all their lists.

"It's great to see Al Gore, but Lindsay Lohan's the sexiest person here," Ferrell declared.

============

So much for Ferrell's opinion...

:P

8. Very few have the stature needed to defeat McCain
Gore and Clark are at the top of my list. Edwards close behind.

No Hillary, no Obama. Not if we want to win.

11. You just wait Al, the time is coming
Let the other poor sods play the role of corporate media target. Once those have all been tarred and feathered the time will be right for Al to step up.

17. 40 people in Wauconda gave Al Gore an ovation yesterday
We all showed up in the middle of nowhere(the Wauconda Community Hall) to watch a screening of his film, "An Inconvenient Truth". Some had driven from 30 or 40 miles away, because this was the first and only opportunity to see the film here in our neck of the woods(the unpopulated part).
At the end of the film, I think everyone who showed up would certainly vote for Al Gore for President if he chooses to run, and this is a conservative area of Eastern Washington.
What a guy! Intelligent and witty, soft spoken but powerful, and I saw a few Republican types in the audience who I suspect will vote Dem if he runs.
The consensus?
"YEAH"!
Go Al!

Bruce

And a Gore/Clark ticket? Why then I guess I'll ahve TWO full-time jobs for a year! One unpaid, though.
