1. Just send the fool this
http://www.snopes.com/politics/immigration/taxes.asp

Then close with a request to keep the hateful email to him/herself. Tell whoever it is that you will block them if they repeat the crime, your life is too short to waste on bigotry and lies.

23. If you think that is BS take a look at this!!!!
According to Rep. Steve King, illegal aliens commit 12
murders every day in the U.S. and kill another 13 daily
through drunk driving incidents.

That's more than 9,000 people killed every year by
illegal aliens.

As World Net Daily's Joseph Farah points out, that means
more people are murdered by illegal aliens in one year
than have been killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars
since their inception.

Rep. King also notes that on average eight children are
sexually abused by illegal aliens every day -- that's
over 2,920 annually. And that's just a small portion
of the illegal alien crime wave.

+ + 4.1 million crimes by illegal aliens

As we reported in Grassfire's booklet, "The Truth About
The Illegal Invasion," some 325,000 criminal illegal
aliens will be incarcerated in state and federal prisons
this fiscal year. A GAO study found that illegal aliens
commit, on average, 12.6 criminal offenses. This means
incarcerated illegal aliens have committed over 4.1
million crimes -- and that does not include illegal
alien criminals who are not incarcerated. And we
learned from Rep. Tom Tancredo that thousands of
illegals are coming from terrorist and suspect nations.

+ + So, what do we do?

It is very clear that the President and the Democrat-controlled
Congress are "chomping at the bit" to pass amnesty. The
only way to stop this is to rally a massive grassroots
uprising.

+ + Action Item -- alert your friends

I am asking you to pass this message on to your friends,
co-workers, family members who may not be aware of how
serious the illegal invasion crime epidemic is.

Encourage them to take a stand to stop the illegal
invasion by signing our petition:

http://www.grassfire.org/42/petition.asp?RID=11664032

We have set a goal of rallying 1 million citizens before
the Bush-Pelosi amnesty push gets rolling, but we need
your help.

Finally, thanks to everyone who is standing with Grassfire
as a "Border Watchman." Our custom lapel pins are due in any
day now. To reserve your pin and, more importantly, help
Grassfire launch "Operation Border Watchman", go here:

Thanks for the stand you are taking!

6. I'd start out with this:
The best way to stop illegal immigration is to fine and imprison ALL Americans who knowingly hire illegals to do their jobs.

Since California was originally part of Mexico, and the first settlers who were not Indians spoke Spanish, I think it is only logical that there be so many Spanish language radio stations. It might shock you to know that in 1850, there were dozens of German language newspapers, and that during the Civil War, whole regiments were recruited that spoke German as their first language. Whole towns in the Midwest were populated by Germans, who maintained their music and their customs. It might shock you to know that more Americans have German ancestry than have English ancestry....but I don't see you wanting to deport all Germans. Could it be because the Germans, like all other immigrants to this nation, eventually assimilated? Don't you think that possibly the Hispanic population will too?

The only people that have a right to gripe about immigrants are the Wamanoag, the Mohawk, the Cree, the Cherokee, the Lakota, the Choctaw.....

16. I agree it is the simplest of solutions
To just make it a crime to hire an illegal
Then they would have to pay a decent wage to Americans for the work they do, and with no jobs to keep them here there would be no attraction to come here in the first place.

That is so true! Only the real locals have the right to gripe about immigrants. All the other Americans ARE immigrants, whether newly arrived of 5th generation!

7. Check snopes, but those numbers sound phoney to me.
95% of murder warrants are for non-citizens? I doubt that.

Oh, and that whole myth of people coming through Ellis wanting to learn English and assimilate needs debunking. If that's true, then why are there German-American clubs, Slovenian-American clubs, Greek classes at Greek Orthodox churches (that have entire services in Greek), and places like Little Italy in Cleveland (that's still mostly Italian-American)? People who think that have never been to big cities with older ethnic enclaves or read The Jungle.

24. rubbish
First of all, Los Angeles County, according to the US Census Bureau is 46% Hispanic as of 2004. If 40% of the wage earners are illegals (assumably Mexican illegals, given the tenor of the e-mail), that would mean very few hispanics are living there legally. That's absurd.

I work for a residential appraisal management company, and can tell you that most of the appraisals on older homes in once-decaying neighborhoods in the rust-belt and northeast states (Harrisburg, Ashtabula, The Bronx, Philadelphia, Benton Harbor, Pittsburgh to name a few) have owners with Spanish surnames. Most who come here just want to work, and are investing in (and broadening the tax bases of) older communities that the SUV/McMansion set has shunned.

Los Angeles is a good example. Once-blighted areas of the city, as well as '20's-era suburbs like Lynnwood, Paramount, Florence, South Gate and Pico Rivera are once again approaching middle class because of Latino investment.

To think that Latinos are tempted to move here because of our generous welfare benefits is a laugh. Is anybody still getting welfare? I thought they did away with that.
