Letter to Congressional Democrats re: media reform
Dear Democratic Senators and Congresspeople,

I know that you have your plate full of important priorities, such as Iraq, civil rights, the investigations, and oversight, among many others. However, there is one priority I'd love for you to squeeze in. It's called media reform. We can differ on the exact specifics, but the goal of media reform is to ensure that the regulated broadcast media present a truly "fair and balanced" picture of American politics and American life. My preference is that the FCC return to the Fairness Doctrine which seemed to work well for years. I'd also prefer that the FTC change the ownership rules for media to reflect more ownership diversity in each geographic area.

It's my opinion that the wealthy and multi-national corporations have been well served by the "reforms" that have taken place over the last 20 years. It's time that the other 98% of us are justly served. Thank you for reading this and making it a priority.

Steve
