MSNBC Airs Multiple Segments On C-SPAN Caller Smearing President Carter

During an interview yesterday, an anonymous C-SPAN viewer called former President Jimmy Carter “a bigot and a racist and an anti-Semite,” and accused him of “cozying up with every dictator, thug, Islamic terrorist there is.”

Video of the exchange is being promoted by several popular right-wing websites, including the Drudge Report and Michelle Malkin’s Hot Air.

Apparently, the rantings of this random C-SPAN viewer are considered “news.” MSNBC has already run two segments today on this irrelevant non-story, one titled “Carter Controversy” and another called, “Pres. Carter: Anti-Semetic?”

I didn't click on any of the threads about this because I figured some RW nutjob pundit took a remark Carter made and turned it into something when it's nothing. I had no idea this was being talked about because of some damn lunatic ranting on a call-in show.

2. Tagging him..........is what it is. We know that C-Span Callers ravings never

get media coverage but MSNBC's further turn to the Dark Side since the election is happy to have Carter smeared in the most vile way. Won't mention what it was...(you know why) but it's really disgusting. Also that Carter said Gore was most qualified for President has a lot to do with this.

Attack Carter with a smear and by inferrence you go after Gore because Carter supported him. Keep Carter from attacking Bush...kill off Gore and you've got "two birds with one stone." :puke:

When you're riding your bus or driving along - give a thought to the differences in character between Carter and Jr. Start with this: One cheats and the other has been cheated against (the Iran-Contra hostage cheat - costing Dems an election - brought by the current upper echelon of the Republican Party, plus Reagan). Did Carter ever come close to planning anything so vile?

It may be more difficult to compile a list than you think? We know plenty about George and we don't know that much about Carter. That may be a measure of character in itself - there is probably zero vile events that anyone can list about Carter. He goes about his business of helping mankind while the other one destroys it.

The Carters deserve better press.

They got rid of the female fuckstick because when they replayed it at night which I watched also, I did not hear her rant.

I enjoyed seeing the 3 hour interview. President Carter's home looks very beautiful.

brain-dead listeners. Last week, Savage used those same terms to describe President Carter.

That wasn't news. Now it is. There's an obvious agenda going on, and whether it is just to try to "get" Carter, or to create blow-back on Gore or just MSNBC's periodic swift-boating of Dems in general, they couldn't be more blatant.

I think they must believe that because they have a couple of hours of Olbermann, they have to use their other 22 hours on-air to prove they are "fair and balanced".
