Poll question: Is it right that two families could control the presidency for 24 years?
Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 07:00 PM by PistolSteve
This has nothing to do with Hillary personally or as a candidate. But I've been thinking that having two families control the presidency (whether democrats or republicans) for a quarter century isn't the best for our country. What do you think?

1. 30 Years, when Bush as VP is counted. It was VP Bush behind Iran/Contra
Bush claimed "I was out of the loop". He was the one drawing the loop that embarrassed Ronald Reagan and infuriated Nancy Reagan with the Bush crowd.

30 years.

2. Your answers are not consistent.
Is it good?

Do I have a problem with it if it's fair?

You might not have a problem with it because you believe in democracy but still not think it's good for the country.

4. That's one reason I do not want Hillary to run
and NO MORE BUSHes! With 300+ million people in this country I'm sick and tired of this government being run by a few families and their cronies - especially on the Repuke side - enough Nixon/Reagan/Bush41 retreads!

5. It think it's a bad idea
It concentrates power in a way that is at the very least symbolically monarchical.
I think it is not healthy for our democracy.

7. I don't think the Bushes are similar to the Clintons
One family is from old money, and generations have inherited it.

The Clintons are an unusual couple who married, and both have Presidential ambitions. They don't have parents that handed them their position, and Chelsea probably won't go into politics.

8. Like I said - it isn't about republicans/democrats...
it is more about something being inherently wrong with two families controlling the office for 24 years.

9. it's funny how no one cares about the bushes running and re-running
they only care when the name in question is clinton, then it's suddenly booga booga

who do you think is going to stop jebbie and the rest if not "her?" or maybe you don't care so much about that

10. First Bill is a Genius
And so influenced, Hillary is still her own women though a little like McCain in drag when it comes to running to the center. Which is what Bill did, too.

Hillary is a Rodham not a Bush, though Clinton is the name she married into. :-)

14. Let's see....
Bill Clinton was in power eight years. That makes him one of several two-term presidents. Hillary Clinton has not been nominated, much less elected yet. What was that about two family domination again? Presumptuous poll. If Hillary decides not to run, doesn't get the nomination, and does not become president, that would make the premise of this poll rather unbalanced. Thanks.

15. Borrow or Buy Kevin Philip's "American Dynasty" to find out why if you
are sitting on the fence with this one. Or, go to Amazon and read a review of the book. Dynasty is NOT a GOOD THING!!!
