17. I Agree With You!! I Think Jebby Is Just As Corrupt If Not MORE SO
than the rest of the Bushies! Still trying to get a win for Vern Buchanan in my District 13 House race, 18,000 plus votes gone missing.... gee wonder HOW that happened???

I can't stand him and can only PRAY we have seen the LAST OF THEM ALL very soon!! I will admit that Jebby comes across as being nicer, but I actually think he just hides it better. In fact, I think he is almost the MOST dangerous of them all!

I know that they aren't going away, but I can dream anyway!

46. the key to that may be the fact that in 1996 jeb bush lost the florida gubernatorial election to
Lawton Chiles which meant that as a result of that loss poppy could not put him up for a pResidential run in 2000 and had to put up his other puke son up for the job ... poppy's tears may have been coming from some place where he might have been saying to himself, "if only i could have put jeb up in 2000 ... all this mess my other idiot son has gotten us into along with the destruction of my family name might not have happened"

there does not seem to be any differentiation between them on how they think, what they value, or between their ability to distinguish right from wrong. they are all inclined to lie, commit crimes, hide behind someone else when they are caught doing some illegal thing, and they are all famous for the, i didn't do it--he did, response. jeb is as bad as his brother though he may appear to be a little more polished--not!

55. Not on your life. jebbie IS one of the neocons. He's a signatory to
that PNAC manifesto, along with all the other vermin. His name is THERE. He. Is. One. Of. Them.

And yeah, I think ghwb was really, deep-down, crying over what might have been - if the "smart son," the NON-fuck-up, had made it into the White House. What might have been. This would all have gone down even sneakier, silkier, and better packaged by the seemingly reasonable bush. The one you could work with. NOT the one you could go have a beer with. The capable one. Not the arrogant fuck-up. But the arrogant fuck-up pushed his way to the front of the line. Dammit, he was gonna show 'em all, once and for all. Well, he sure did, didn't he. Screwed it up for the "good" brother who should have been the next in line after Big Daddy. And just maybe - screwed it up for the bush dynasty for perhaps another generation or two. I think the old man was scheming to replace the Kennedys as "America's Royal Family." He wanted that title to go to the GOP, NOT the Dems. They didn't deserve it, proletariat commoners that they are, always looking out for "the help," when the priority should ALWAYS be the haves and have mores - who are the purported "engines" of our society. They should come first anyway, shouldn't they? The ultimate entitlement program, I'll tell ya. Here was a chance to remake the entire concept of "America's Royal Family," and transfer the crown and the bragging rights to HIS party, not those disgusting - eeewwww - commoner-loving Dems.

I mean, face it. The aristocrats belonged at the top. Not those wallowing in the barn with the great unwashed who wouldn't know what to do with power and authority if you wrapped it all up in Big Macs and sold it for a dime at the Walmart. I'm truly convinced that is what the old man had in mind. And HIS family was just the bunch to do it. They were even all in position across the Sunbelt, PERFECTLY poised like pieces on a chess board to effect The Takeover that would last for at least a generation or two. Maybe the much-vaunted New American Century. Can't have a commoner's hand on the steering wheel for such an august endeavor now, can we? Totally remake the idea of American aristocracy, in fact, the entire American political landscape. Suddenly it would be kind of okay to have a real live ruling class again, just like in the old country. Really, the old America, like Old Europe, needed to be remade and updated, the old crap put out to pasture with the idea of the even playing field and of the people, by the people and for the people. The "people" are stupid. Crude. Common. Unwashed. Uncultured. Unconnected. Poor. Peasants. Unable to do anything worthwhile on the magnificent world stage. Which is why HE with his great pedigrees and blue blood and long, traceable lineage of wealth and privilege and power, should be the new Great American Patriarch. Peasants, after all, only give you yards covered with weeds, old washing machine parts, and cars up on cement blocks. Aristocrats give you the nice neat manicured lawns with those cute little lawn jockeys and that respectable limo in the driveway - commanded by one of the servants, of course. And wouldn't you rather be seen with the upscale, anyway? Neiman Marcus rather than Kmart? Isn't it just better that way? The patricians always know how to handle power and wealth better. With more class and elegance and entitlement. You can't leave things this important to PEASANTS!!!

Truly, I think that's what the old man had in mind. And that's why he's distraught. Because idiot george junior brought the whole thing down. He was so close. SO close to realizing his long-held dream for his family. Its name up in lights, in the pantheon of American history - the latter day Adamses, Roosevelts. And BETTER than the Kennedys 'cause HIS family had TWO presidents. Maybe THREE! He'd show 'em all. Nobody'd EVER be better than the bushes, and this would prove it for all time. He could taste it. SO close. And little georgie fucked it up for him. george senior cried, I suspect, because he felt it all slipping through his fingers. When he was SO close to grabbing it all.

49. Jeb Bush lost in 1994 when he ran for governor, but
Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 09:09 PM by Eric J in MN
...that is a good explanation for why George H. W. Bush was crying today.

Jeb Bush would have made a more obvious choice for a presidential candidate had he been a governor for longer in 2000, as someone who could carry a swing state.

18. GHWBush Has Had It...
GW is killing him. When you look at that dysfunctional family and all the problems they have had, it has to have taken a lot of energy to keep on top ot those boys, although pretty darned sad to still have to babysit them at their ages. The S&L debacle, all the drug/alcohol problems, the criticisms against the boys and now to have to watch GW defy those who are trying to advise...with arrogance, I might add, has to be taking its toll. I'll bet Poppa doesn't make it through GW's term.

56. Bush the Elder is a sanctimonious hypocrite. I hope he IS suffering
I HOPE Bush the Lesser's parents are suffering!

I don't think they would suffer for the same reasons the rest of the nation and the world have been made to suffer because of their imbecile sociopathic son -- but whatever shame and outrage they feel over their family having been disgraced by him, let them feel it every day of the rest of their overprivileged misbegotten lives.

Untold numbers of other human beings have had their lives shattered because Baby Caligula cheated his way into the presidency with the help of Daddy's cronies. The dead, the maimed, the jobless, the homeless, the starving, the unwanted babies, the sick -- what a trail of destruction.

Hekate

and i did not see what you are referring to but from the descriptions you are telling me poppy was moved to tears by a tribute to jeb (need a good nickname for him). As we mock and yell we are making repukes sympathetic to jeb. I think he was crying as he wrote the check for jeb's exploratory commitee. They have no shame. Those are crocodile tears.

(not)Holding back the tears,
Thinking of the fear Ive had for so long.
When somebody hears,
Listen to the fear thats gone.

Strangled by the wishes of pater,
Hoping for the arm of mater,
Get to me sooner or later,
Nothing ever could, yeah.

(we'll) keep holding on,
Ill keep holding on,
Ill keep holding on,
Ill keep holding on.

Chance for me to escape from all I know.
Holding back the tears.
Theres nothing here has grown.
Ive wasted all my tears,
Wasted all those years.
Nothing had the chance to be good,
Nothing ever could, yeah. (thankyou, Bush dynasty)

(We'll) keep holding on,
Ill keep holding on,
Ill keep holding on,
Ill keep holding on
So tight.

59. Poopy talks about the twins:
The former president also answered questions. When asked about the vision for his grandchildren, he said neither he nor his wife are pushing them toward politics or running for public office.

"But I hope that they will, I hope quite a few of them will," he said before pausing and joking about the current President Bush's daughters. "I'm not sure I'd count on the twins doing this — Jenna and Barbara — but they're full of life and they might."

Six years ago, when the twins were 19, they were charged with underage drinking in an Austin, Texas bar.

"They've calmed way down," their grandfather said. "They're doing great."
