Why not financial incentives to college students to sign up for it just like we have financial incentives to join the military?

Five years after Sept. 11th and we still don't have our act together.

Plus the CIA and NSA both have college scholarship programs (I was offered one by the NSA--which I declined--for Chinese) that operate more or less like an intellegence ROTC program.

4. At the grad level, Title VI.
Most of the faculty in the programs hate the idea of their students doing government work; in mine, it was instant disqualification from receiving Title VI funding.

Other programs are in the works, I think one kicked in last fall or kicks in next fall; I've seen flurries of request for applications and discussion about the process, but since I'm not faculty ... bleah.

5. But, five years later, this country still is not providing adequate incentives for people...
to learn the languages our government needs.

For the price of one week in Iraq, we could be training thousands of people to read Arabic.

It's just not happening.
