Just to let those in the future know that we weren't all insane.

1. Hotel of the Mysteries
by David Macaulay (Houghton Mifflin; 1979) predicts a "cataclysmic coincidence of previously unknown proportion (that) extinguish(es) virtually all forms of life on the North American continent." He believes that an accidental reduction in 3rd and 4th class postal rates will bury our civilization under a blanket of brochers, fliers, and small containers marked "FREE!" This will dislodge the impurities than are suspended in out atmosphere, creating a volcanic-like blanket.

The rest of the book speculates on what archaeologists will find. I assume that Mr. Pitt's book would lead them to conclude that people weren't paying close enough attention to the politics of the day.

4. They'll be more likely to find it. . .
(If it's on everyone's Christmas list this year.)

5. The best way to ensure that it remains preserved for all eternity
until some future archeologist digs through the rubble is to wrap a copy of it in a couple of disposable diapers. Thise things will last for eternity and preserve any contents. Future archeologists are going to think that this culture worshipped baby byproducts because we so lovingly preserved them for posterity.

Just a suggestion.
