Can congress expunge an impeachment?
Edited on Tue Dec-05-06 10:50 AM by liberaldemocrat7
If so then let us ask the new congress to expunge the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

This congress will honor Henry Hyde with a room named after him and he cheated on his wife. Normally I do not give a rat's ass about whom cheats on whom but the RIPublican party impeached Clinton over a sexual matter and now the Republiclowns have offered a resolution to Honor Henry Hyde.

Can congress expunge an impeachment?

1. Probably. But "expunge" usually goes with "conviction" and Clinton wasn't
convicted. I've never heard of indictments being reversed, and impeachment is just an indictment.

I'm no attorney, though.

2. Not from history.
This borders on a real waste of time IMO. Bill Clinton has moved on so can we.

3. the impeachment is just an indictment. once he is found innocent by the
senate the case is over and done with.

4. I realize an impeachment appears an indictment or a charge
but Clinton should not have gotten charged for simple private sexual matters.

Couldn't the house could pass a simple resolution expunging this illegitimate matter.

6. There wouldn't be any point.
The history has already been written, and that is what the Repukes were really after. They were out to destroy Clinton's legacy.

Going back and trying to change things now wouldn't change a thing.
