"ADDICTED TO OIL"
No shit, but it's going to take more than a mention to make any impact on our dependancy.

Of course, you have no conflict of interest that would make you suck up to the oil companies, would you?

7. "Replace More Than 75 Percent Of Our Oil Imports from the Middle East . ."
by 2025."

Current Middle East imports 2.3 Mbbl/dy ~ 75% = 1.73 Mbbl/dy
Current consumption 20.5 Mbbl/dy ~ 8.4% reduction.

Pathetic.

At an optimistic 2% depletion rate, the world will be producing 67% of the 2005 peak production of 85 Mbbl/dy.

At what is appearing to be a more realistic 4% depletion rate, the world will be producing 45% of the 2005 peak production.
