I have no prblem w/bush Sr. crying...
I think the ability to express emotions like that is good. It's the republicans that would jump all over that and paint the person as weak (which they are probably doing right now)

1. I wish they were tears of gulit, contrition, and utter remorse
for what he unleashed on this country and the world.

2. I agree but what I saw bordered on some sort of dementia.
It was disturbing, and such displays of emotion don't usually lead me to that conclusion--no matter who's doing the crying.

when "Swift Boating" is now a political term.

but I still don't understand the why. Being proud of Jeb's Governorship is one thing but this seems to be about something more.

12. Or because he feels closer to Jeb -- or that he's thankful
at least one of his sons still may seek his counsel on things (unlike RatBastard, who doesn't seem to think it's a big deal to openly ADMIT he doesn't ask for his dad's advice, even though his Poppy was fucking president ... ).

His world is crumbling, or he will miss Kennebunkport when he moves to Paraguay, who knows. But this was about more than Jeb and the way he handled an old election.

but turn a blind eye towards their own dirty tricks and stolen elections. Anybody remember Poppy's Willy Horton ad against Dukakis in '88?

he believes his dream of the Bush family being gloriously written into the history books has gone up in smokes.

15. "Ability to Express EMOTIONS"??!! Bush?!?!?!
Oh come on.

Fucking ICE WATER runs in the veins of the ENTIRE Bush family.

THEY HAVE NO EMOTIONS, since EMOTIONS are HUMAN!!!!

EVERY FUCKING THING the members of the BUSH FAMILTY does is done PURELY FOR EFFECT!!!!!

Bush, Sr's crying was NOT about showing emotions!!!!!

It was about BEING A FUCKING BULLY!!!!!

18. I disagree.
About the "no emotions" part. (I think he's a fucking bully too, still.) But even the worst tyrants seem to have a soft spot for their families. Their families are "special" and "better" than everyone else. Even sociopaths can have strong feelings towards their offspring, although they could give 2 shits about everyone else. They have NO EMPATHY. So while they can "love" their own family, and have strong feelings toward their own family, they have no ability to understand that other families feel the same way.
Either that or it's dementia. Or maybe he's in poor health and realizes where he's about to go spend eternity....

19. ANY Member of the BUSH GANG
Any member of the soul-less, heartless, cruel, evil vile disgusting Bush "family" would sacrifice any other member of the "family in a minute if they thought doing so would gain them more power!!!

They are so divorced from what it is to be human that they do NOT knoiw love even for other members of their own family.

What they do instead -- at least in public -- is ENTIRELY for show, and COMPLETELY CALCUALTED to gain MORE POWER for them and their croneys!!!

16. He knows the Bush family is utterly done now. The generations long planning
and maneuvering to get the Bush family in control of so much has been utterly lost now due to the total incomptence of his son.

He bet the farm on a longshot by having his son made president - had he won, he would have won big; but if loses, he loses everything.

And he knows now that he's lost everything - his longshet bet isn't gonna pay off. His parents and grandparents had the patience to go slowly. GWHB got too greedy too fast, and he knows that he is soon gonna pay the piper for his impatience and hubris.

Same year Dubbie won governor of TX. The whole family was so devastated by Jeb's loss, they hardly paid any attention to George's win. I'm sure that irritated him no end.

31. Not until the next election.
Chiles won re-election in 1994, and W won in Texas. Jebbie had to wait till Chiles' term was up, then he won, but W was first, and he got the nod for the presidential run.

23. It's good he is capable of tears
and I think he is unravelling and tearful because he knows more than the general public knows about what's going on inside the White House and he knows there will be a very messy end to GWBs presidency. Maybe even worse than Tricky-Dick's. I honestly think he feels sorry for his son rather than himself. Sure he should cry about all his son's victims and those he also has offed but apparently he has some genuine parental impulses. Face it -- he and Babs messed up big time. What a family.

33. 41 is crying because he's SCARED and Mortified!!!
Apparently, Bush 43 has something in the offing coming soon. Something so terrible (with the Bush name attached to it), he's scared half to death, because it will be a desperate cling to power measure, that will devastate our way of life in America for a very long time..

His family will be remembered as a family of Tyrants and GREED with a Win At ALL Costs mentality!

The history books will recount them as the scourge of the White House. A personage who's goals were NEVER
to SERVE but to GOUGE for GREED to the point of human sacrifice of our own troops and the conspicuous consumption
of ANY culture who stood in the way of their making MONEY!

42. He was crying for the future
He knows if Jeb had been elected as Gov. in Fla, Jeb is the one who would have run for president and stolen the election from Al Gore in 2000.

B41 knows that Jeb was too smart by an inch over his brother to have invaded Iraq. But since the US invaded we are now damned and our future is bleak.

That's why he was crying. He knows that we are pretty well fucked since his other son fucked up so badly.
