According to Russert Hillary ONLY spoke up at Gate's hearing today... |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-05-06 07:49 PM by XOKCowboy
because of Barak Obama. The ONLY reason she questioned Gates intensively was because she's worried about Obama. Sheesh. :puke: A totally unsubstantiated statement on the NBC Evening News.
Now I'm no Hillary lover but I'm SICK of this BS. We've got Fox News spouting and reinforcing the Republican line and the rest of the MSM spouting this kind of pablum.
Edited to get the right person in the subject.

4. Sorry. I was reading about Bill Casey a while ago.. |
|
I know. Russert didn't even mention what she asked Gates. All he talked about was her running scared from Obama.

the reason people watch TV are varied. If you limit your viewing to it's intended target you miss half of the nuances and all of the subliminal. Obama is being set up as the great white hope. Personally I know very little about Mr. Obama and have not formed an opinion. Russert saying things like Hillary is scared is just another in a long line of exalting Obama speak. Now whether this is actually how the talking heads feel about Obama or it turns out to be something not yet revealed, is in the future. From a realistic standpoint, Obama is a black man. There are not enough, IMO, people who would vote for a black man in this country in 2 years. This may strike you as a racist comment, Conservatives are anti equality by design. Fifty percent of the country would have Roe overturned. 30 percent of the 50 would have this country ruled by biblical principals. Who molds America? ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX. If this is your world then I agree. Without the internets we would all become robots for the machine. I myself don't want to deal with elections in 2008. I need a break.

9. NBC Nightly News has a blog |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-05-06 08:01 PM by creeksneakers2
Its called the Daily Nightly. Its on the MSNBC.com website. Here's my contribution for today. I hope they'll run it. :
Stop defrauding your viewers with claims you can read Hillary Clinton's mind.
Your coverage of the 2008 presidential race has already become a fictional soap opera with Hillary cast as the villain. No matter what Hillary does, NBC will attach some diabolical motive to it, along with a baselessly conceived analysis of all the political dynamics of your fictional intrigues. Accompanying it all will be eye witness telepathic reports on what exactly is going through Hillary's mind.
How in the world do you come to the conclusion that Hillary is launching her run for the White House early because of Barrack Obama? The only evidence you provided was that Hillary and Obama touched the same bases while testing the waters. Do you think we are too dumb to realize that all candidates touch those bases, and the earlier the better? If Hillary makes a phone call to Iowa, a pivotal early primary state, what evidence is there that she is doing it because of Obama? Did you mean to say tonight that Hillary wouldn't be talking to black leaders if it weren't for Obama?
I'm tempted here to write my own analysis of what Tim Russert was up to tonight. I'd include ratings motives to invent a Hillary/Obama spat and jump into the higher ratings that presidential elections bring. I could write the thoughts that went through Russert's head, like that those talking heads he has on his show aren't that good at analyzing anything, so if he creates a Hillary/Obama spat they can all gossip about it without consequence because nothing bad ever happens to anybody who smears the Clintons.
There is plenty of dirt on the new defense secretary nominee. NBC could have run a great report on how scandal was overlooked for today's 21-0 vote. Instead, you ran this trash about Hillary, that had nothing at all to do with anything that happened today.

It is a way of protesting this infantile coverage. I forget how Brian Williams described Hillary. It was more than "heir apparent", something like the "appointed leader of Dems considering running for president in 08" something completely stupid like that.
I wonder how the other networks covered it.

12. I would expect that competition from Obama could sharpen her skills |
|
if she indeed is a worthy presidential candidate for 2008. Likewise, I look forward to seeing how Obama can handle pressure when exhausted by the political marathon of a Presidential race. Of course the media has a way of distorting the view, so I remain hopeful but skeptical that the best candidate is going to emerge from all this.

And if both are courting the Dem nomination, well by golly they are likely to vote like Dems from now till then aren't they? This could turn out to be a very good Dem year afterall, eh?

has an account of Scooter Libby getting angry about Chris Matthews going on a tear about Valerie Plame. So Libby calls up Russert and bawls him out about it. So Russert calls up the president of NBC and tells him that if Matthews doesn't lay off the White House that NBC will have a harder time booking White House guests. The network head calls the Matthews show, and voila!
Proof Russert covers up for the Bush cabal.

19. It's completely ridiculous considering they have a pred-decided order of questioning... |
|
So because the committee order was Obama first Hillary second idiots like Russert can bash Clinton even though its simply Senate procedure. I have serious doubts too about Hillary as our candidate but this type of hogwash journalism just irks me.
