In his latest book, Shame of the Nation, NCLB has 'nationalized punishment' while NOT nationalizing equity. We will always be a two tiered country if this NCLB is seen through to 2014, and has already caused a great stunting of thinking skills in schools that are bent on making those AYP scores. NCLB has helped me cement my plans to take early retirement from what I consider a great profession that truly can be the best agent of change and hope, but is now being choked off. All the repubs want is for public schools to turn out drones so their elitist progeny can continue to run things as the status quo is now.
