Wow, Freepers are Unhinged over a 5 Day Work Week
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 12:28 PM by Vox Acerbus
Just when you thought they couldn't possibly be so crazy as to disagree with the fact that Congress needs to ACTUALLY work, they surprise!

From http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1749129/posts

Some choice quotes from these nutsacks:

"More time to screw the tax payers!"

"Exactly. The less time they spend in DC, the better."

"I see, they wish to do the maximum amount of damage in the shortest amount of time."

"Had the Federal Government been properly restrained by the Constitution, they would not need to work such a long week. In fact, they could conduct most of the business of the nation and be home by June."

"It takes alot of work to drive America down that death spiral....."

"I would like Congress to meet part-time and write fewer, not more laws. Gridlock is good. "

"I couldn't disagree more. I've worked for years in a state legislature. The less these clowns are in session, the better off we are.
If they're there, they pass laws and we already have far too many laws.
We should give them all their full salaries on the very first day of session and then see how long they're there."

"As a nation, we'd be better off if they wouldn't go to work at all."

"I'm glad to see some folks "get it". The people on this thread cheering this on, scare me.
"No man’s life, liberty, or property are safe while the Legislature is in session”"

1. They hate the representative government. They need a dictator..
Democracy requires too much thinking for the intellectually challenged freepers.

They just want some dumbass frat boy to tell them what to think.

5. Wait, I thought the manta in freeperville is "we are a republic not a democracy"!
We have a representative form of government they say. Thus we have representatives that we send to Washington to act on our behalf. If we don't want them to act on our behalf what kind of government is that? A non-republic?

Really nothing is ok unless it is the freeper way.

2. This one 's my favorite
"Had the Federal Government been properly restrained by the Constitution, they would not need to work such a long week. In fact, they could conduct most of the business of the nation and be home by June."

The Federal Bureaucracy is part of the Executive branch, they're bitching about congress critters when it's the pretzledent's organization they should be trying to restrain.

11. but their guys just increased the Federal Gummint
by more than anybody else in history. They're just putting everything on the old national credit card so the costs will be borne by those yet to be born.

3. I'd suggest cutting their salaries to match the number of hours worked.
And pay them minimum wage.

6. I bet they weren't saying that back when they were still the majority.
Hilarious to see them suddenly turn from fascists into anarchists.

8. It's Actually Even Funnier
Because this is the same crowd who have been saying the gov't has one primary function and that's to protect the people. Now, there are 3 comments from people there saying that the gov't is dangerous and we need to be protected from gov't. So, which is it? Are we (meaning them) afraid of the terrorists or not? If not, then they were lying the last 5 years. If so, they're lying now.

7. They hate government
Which is why no one should have been surprised that the government hasn't worked. This should be on the tip of every Democrat's tongue. If your goal is no government, then don't be surprised that the government isn't there when you need it.

9. Right. Lets just let Bush make all of the decisions
Members of Congress should only "visit" Washington from time to time, and then only to ratify what the Leader has done.

10. "We should give them all their full salaries..."
so much for "meritocracy" I guess. Oh wait - they've never really believed in that, as long as you're white.

13. Forty hour work weeks are for "The Rabble"
You, the people who won't take "those jobs". The ones you keep hearing about, the jobs we don't want. Five whole days a week-barbaric! It's not like they are getting paid $165200 a year to be there and haven't they already put in a staggering 97 days? What do you people want? An egg in your beer?

14. Cleaning up the Republican mess will take time.
And a lot of work.

The list of things that have gone wrong under total Republican rule is a long one.

Remember fiscal responsibility? Where did that go? Now the Democrats will have to start work on that and it will take quite some time to get matters in hand again.

That's just one example. The list goes on and on.

Is that what those fucktards are saying??

What happened to REFORM, some of which includes the asinine pay and perks they get for their "hard" labor?
