Has he lost a friend in Iraq, or just comes to his senses? I thought he was a winger.

7. Humanitarian?
The Hypocrites of Homosexuality by Orson Scott Card

Furthermore, if we allow ourselves to be intimidated by our fear of the world's censure into silence in the face of attempts by homosexuals to make their sin acceptable under the laws of the polity, then we have abandoned our role as teachers of righteousness.

Uh-huh.

On edit: I loved The West Wing's version of that. Martin Sheen was great in that scene.

12. Yes. It puts these petty moralizers into perspective.
They are just full of sh*t for their picking and choosing of what to be so worried about.

5. That's his job.
To sound sane while covering for brutality of every stripe. He wants laws against homosexuality. do we need to know more?

6. He holds some fundamentalist ideas which come through in books, but most books are ok
1 woman + 1 man is a big one. While this is ok, if it works for you, I don't like it being forced on people as "the way it must be". If he wants to use this in his writing, that is his privilege. I like his books in that they deal with xenophobia issues, wish he could apply them to other "isms" here on earth.

He did a series on women of the bible also, can't remember much about them. I stand mixed on OSC.

This one does not sound interesting as I hate reading/watching violence. Will wait on it.

just google it for yourself, and see what the liberal blogosphere is saying. Or find the first five chapters, and read it for yourself. It's incredible drek.

I loved his Alvin Maker books. <sigh> I guess I don't have to like him to like his books.
