BAGHDAD, Iraq - Ten American service members were killed in two improvised explosive device attacks in Iraq on Wednesday, NBC News reported. The news came hours after a mortar attack killed at least eight people and wounded dozens in the Sadr City Shiite district of the capital, police said.

In the 10 American deaths, five troops were killed in the north, and five were killed in Anbar province, a U.S. military official told NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski. No further details were immediately available.

The more of our kids who get slaughtered in Iraq the more successful we are. Don't need to come home, just stay until we achieve "victory" or until all the kids are dead. For those morally inclined it is important that more die tomorrow so that those who died today will not have died in vain.

Just a brief summation of the conservative position on the war and it is held and spread by men who not spent one day in any kind of service to their country.

Anyone remotely connected to PNAC should be tried and then hanged until dead.

5. How close are the deaths in Iraq to the deaths on 9/11?

That should make news don't you think? The number of American deaths in Iraq will be larger then the number of deaths on 9/11 soon. Not that there is a real correlation but some on the right still think the Iraq war is because of 9/11. Will they think there is no limit to the number of dead soldiers when it comes to revenge for 9/11?

10. The tragic senselessness of it all

Ten more today. Another number to add to another number. Meanwhile, ten families get a visit notifying them that their flesh and blood are dead. Everyone here can relate to the crushingly numb feeling we get when someone close to us dies - either expected or otherwise. Ten families just today alone feel that.
Add that to the other 3,000 since the idiot-in-chief decided to play war with real toy soldiers. Add that to the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens, executed because they are Iraqis.
Sometimes I just shake my head when I read of the daily carnage.
Today, I grieve.
It's so unbelieveable.
Just like I feel when someone close to me dies.
