"Neo Culpa" is enough to make any pacifist want to kick some neocon ass

I refer to the Vanity Fair article in which Richard Perle, David Frum, Kenneth Adelman and other neo con artists wag their fingers at the Bushists for screwing up their beautiful dreams. You might want to congratulate people for finally seeing the light, but all I can think of is the bloody horror and wreckage their beautiful dream wrought. Here just a little taste of the infuriating stupidity on display in this article:

Perle: "The levels of brutality that we've seen are truly horrifying, and I have to say, I underestimated the depravity."

<This just boggles my mind! Does he think there's more depravity in Iraq now compared to before the invasion? I'd love to know the answer to that question.>

Adelman: "The policy can be absolutely right, and noble, beneficial, but if you can't execute it, it's useless, just useless."

<The policy was absolutely wrong, Adelman, which is mainly why it got executed as it did!>

James Woolsey: "It will convince the jihadis and al-Qaeda-in-Iraq types as well as the residual Ba'thists that we are a paper tiger, and they or anybody they want to help can take us on anywhere and anytime they want and be effective, that we don't have the stomach to stay and fight."

<They were convinced we were a paper tiger in May 2003. We've been proving it ever since!>

1. They were too smart to listen to anybody beforehand.
That is what makes this so outrageous, it wasn't like they were operating in a vacuum, bereft of dissenting counsel. No, their plan was so masterful, ordinary buffoons would learn from it's brilliant execution and be awestruck by the minds capable of such geo-political wizardry. Too smart for their own good springs to mind.

7. I love Doghouse Riley's comment on this article:
Okay, That Much Is Settled: They Are That Stupid, And They're Liars

David Rose's piece in the January Vanity Fair is well worth the read, and provides us with much to talk about, the first on that list being, "If the Democrats do not haul these guys and every other Republican thug associated with the Bush Crime family in front of committees, under oath, and squeeze them until their eyeballs bleed there is no hope left for this country." (my emphasis)

8. They never learn a thing, never forget a slight
A bunch of idiots with access to power; America is the poorer for it, the world is far worse off, and millions of people are in graves long before their time. But some real evil people got a lot of money because of their shenanigans.

9. Hey, if the policy's right, why did we know it was wrong?
Explain that one Perle! We knew it was wrong from the beginning. We knew that countries would not line up waiting to be invaded by the US army. We knew the citizens in those countries would at best resent being conquered, just as much as we would. We knew that the road the neocons put us on ends in a bunker with a pistol barrel in the mouth. Why didn't you, Perle? Could it be because you're so racist and dismissive of everyone that you thought people would be honored to have their country invaded by the US, rather than angered? Could it be that you're so elitist that you actually thought innocent people wouldn't mind being killed and tortured and maimed for life so long as it advanced your agenda? Did you actually think those people thought of themselves as bit players in their own lives, that they actually consciously thought their lives simply weren't as important since they weren't Americans?

I think you probably did.
