Democrats missing votes
I don't know, this is a little confusing,disconcerting to me. http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/

Go to previous congress, pick any of the 109 - 102 congress's. And click on members who missed votes. I haven't gone through all of them, but mostly democrats are on top, it's like a trend. Is there any reason for this. Gephart missed like 72 percent one year. Just wondering if there's a reason.

1. It has to do mostly with running for other offices.
Strickland ran for governor. Ford ran for Senate. Gephardt ran for president that year. Sweeney had legal trouble. Hyde has one foot in the grave. You have to look at it case by case.

Ya because I did recognize many who were currently in an election year etc. Ya I don't know the circumstance behind many of them so it's probably not right to assume anything

4. Over the last 6 years, there have been few times
that a Democrats vote meant anything other than as a symbolic gesture.

I mean, I know I wouldn't get my knickers in a twist if I had been in the senate or house and some vote was scheduled on something or other and I knew in advance that the bill would be shoved through with little to no debate and no chance that my "no" vote would mean anything.
