Liberal Media? We've lost two progressive radio stations this month
in my little corner of the world. One sold to an xtian group, the other just unceremoniously pulled the programming. Now i am left with NPR (it sucks) or streaming. Hard to carry my computer around as I work.

1. Yes, I hope we all enjoyed it while it lasted
we had two years of a little counter-balance to the 10,000 or so hate radio stations, but it sounds like our days are numbered.

3. Sorry to hear it.
I think that the internet radio route is actually not a bad idea. But of course, having lived out with a deep well and gravel roads, getting bandwidth can be a challenge.

The key is to get an central internet stream with local advert streams and the sales group savvy enough to pull it off.

10. yeah.
I think that liberal radio services a lot of markets, but does not get much revenue from them because it is on the Internets.

The solution is to localize the connection.

5. I wonder why liberal talk radio has such a hard time making it?
Studies have shown that, when discussing individual issues, most people identify more with a liberal point of view (as long as it's not labeled as such) than with a conservative. Is it just that the type of person who listens to the radio is also the type who would find Limbaugh and Hannity entertaining? Would liberals just rather read than listen?

6. i tried to listen but i kept hearing stuff i had already read or
heard from friends. i think that's the problem with "liberal" radio...we don't need someone spoon feeding us or telling us how to think.

8. Corps place ads - and have biases - as the ABC Radio offer to boycott AAR shows
it is not always about money (especially when we are not speaking about the hired worker called a CEO who is in the game to steal as much as possible in most cases).

I like those that explain the great difficulty and hard life that is their fate because they "came from money".

Common to most of the rich is the fact that Power to screw and power to do "favors" is more important than money.

The hate where you came from - or where your great grand father came from - is the touchstone of the "upper-class" (the rich & corporate), and causes some wierd behavior - not profit motivativated - by the rich.

The rich are indeed different from real people - and they enjoy the pain they inflict on those causes they believe their peer group wants them to dislike - like liberal talk radio.

9. It's because liberal talk radio hosts aren't entertaining.
Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy, period. They're the good ones, the only liberal hosts who aren't total wimps or yawn-fests.

Beyond that, you've got the bores like Al Franken or Jerry Springer, ad nauseum. Al Franken, in particular, needs to take a course in public speaking. As in, TALK FASTER, YOU SOUND LIKE A RETARD!

I wish Ed Schultz weren't such an asshole, because he can be entertaining, at least. :(
