Wow. Another failure. Stay the course and Man on Mars promises
The Conventional Wisdom was that this was the most important speech of the Bush presidency. He blew it. More of the same tired rhetoric with no plan to back it up. Sure, the GOP talking point will be "olive branch", but there's nothing behind it other than knowing that they're about to get their asses kicked in the next election -- when else would they offer a "truce" (not he did).

We'll see how the puppet theatre reacts, but I anticipate two major moments taking the attention away from Bush's message. Cindy getting arrested for the T-shirt was pure brilliance. Everyone knows that the reason for protests is to force the attention that the media wouldn't otherwise give. The other was the great moment where bush bemoaned the congress not passing his social security reforms and was interrupted by thunderous applause from the democrats. The idiot got flustered enough that he screwed up his next line

Will we see a bump? Maybe 3 or 4 points. Bush's approval might get up to 45% Whoohoo!

Yet another failure from the Failure.
