Do you have benefits at your job? If not, would you like to? |

2. No, and No - I'm self employed, group health insurance would be |
|
more expensive (because the cost is normally split between employer and employee) so it's cheaper for me to buy it as an individual.
I have granted myself an unspecified number of unspecified days off, just to use when I feel like it - but none of those days are paid.

9. Friends with benefits ... |
|
When I first heard that phrase I assumed it was insurance fraud. You have a friend with benefits, you go to the doctor as him/her. Imagine my surprise when I learned what it really means! Harr!

4. I do have benefits but they are not fabulous |
|
I have worked here for seven years and the premiums have slowly gone up pretty much every year and the coverage has slowly gone down. I cant complain though because at least I have something.

5. Yes, group health insurance of which my employer pays 80% of |
|
...the monthly premium and employees pay 20%. It is an HMO with co-pays, but these are reasonable and all employees seem to be able to pay them and are quite happy to get them. I also get a fully paid annual membership in Sam's Club although I would prefer CostCo. Unfortunately there is no retirement plan of 401K available at this time so I have to fund and maintain my own small plan. I was counting on Social Security to supplement the modest plan I have. Now I'll have to continuing working and contributing until I am 70 years old to make it work for me when I am no longer able to work full time.

With health care the way it is in this country, I plan to get myself in the best shape possible. I've gotten my weight under control this year, mostly through exercise & lifting weights. I feel better than I have in a couple of decades. My balance has improved, I'm more sure on my feet & I am wearing pants I haven't worn in years.
I've watched older relatives deteriorate as they age & at least of few of them could have alleviated much of their distress if they had taken better care of themselves with diet & exercise.

|
sick/vacation), dental coverage, bus pass.
*(Company used to pay total premiums - this coming year I will need to pay a small portion.)

11. Sounds like a company with good benefits. |
|
I've never seen any stats, but I bet that fewer employers in so-called "right-to-work" states offer benefits than those in states that aren't "right-to-work" states.

10. My boss is very generous in the amount he pays. |
|
80% of employee & spouse, 50% of the differential between spouse & family. He also does a great 401k match, although I don't participate in that.

Which take a big chunk of my paycheck each month. If we had nationalized insurance, I would get a hefty raise.

I have full health, dental and 401k.
Although they take $30 a week out of my check for the health coverage.

but I am working part time as an independent contractor, have benefits through husband's job, and have no complaints at this point. Although I am considering finding a full time job with benefits that would also pay more.
