Chuck Grassley (R) pissed off about redacted reports
On the Senate floor railing against the FDA because of 57 redacted pages. Talking about Congressional oversight and their duty and how agencies are blacking out reports that Congress requests.

Somehow, he's turning it on the Democrats and yelling at the other side of the aisle demanding to know if the Democrats will be keeping their promise to the American people about Congressional oversight and what they're going to do about it.

Um, dude?! WTF?! Where the hell have you been for the last six freakin' years?

2. Grassley completely shocked me yesterday
I'll have to catch up to what he's going on about now. Normally, one that the mute goes "ON" by about the third sentence...but in yesterday's hearing with FBI Director Mueller, he was taking him to task about the anthrax attacks on Leahy. Maybe he was just trying to kiss ass with the incoming Chair of the Judicial Committee, but on its face he seemed to be very serious about it.

Leahy made some remarks about it after Grassley brought it up. It 'sounded' like they're going to be pushing Mueller to get to bottom of it.

5. Or maybe
Grassley has caught of wiff of the winds of change in Iowa and will now do just about anything to hang onto his seat.

6. Cornfield, as a constitutent, I just sent him a little missive that reads as follows,
"Dear Senator Grassley,

I just watched your extraordinary performance now on the Senate floor with my mouth open in astonishment. I believe you were incensed about heavily redacted reports from the FDA being sent to the Senate. Apparently, you believe that by somehow demanding that Democrats follow through on promises for oversight during the next session of Congress will somehow make us forget that Republicans have been in charge of this debacle in DC for the last six years. You apparently also believe that such a rant would make us out here forget the colossal absence of oversight by the Republicans over the past six years. Sir, we remember and will not forget the willful lies, manipulatiive slights of hand, and in-your-face bullying of this Republican led government that has brought our nation to the edge of an abyss. I'm very confident that your requests for oversight in the next Congress will be happily met, and I eagerly await the beginnins of those proceedings. I trust that somehow we will be able to get reclaim America for all Americans and not just a privileged few. I, for one, will not mourn the passing of this Congress and welcome its demise with joy. I would like my letter to on the record and a letter in response."

Just a reminder to ole Chuck that he's being watched.

3. Yep, it's the Democrats' fault that the Republicans didn't
exercise any oversight.

:silly:
