Spokesman for Bush, "James Baker can go back to his day job."
Ouch.

"It has to be hard-nosed, it has to be determined," Baker said in a television interview in October. "You don't give away anything, but in my view, it's not appeasement to talk to your enemies."

But this president may not be in much of a hurry to accept Baker's ideas about that — or much else. Asked if Baker would help implement the {Iraq Study Group's} report, a spokesman for Mr. Bush said, "Jim Baker can go back to his day job."

4. Exactly.
They only listen when it's what they want to hear. That is a recipe for catastrophe, as we all know.

5. This thing will be a whitewash just like the 9/11 commission.
Any commission that has Alan Simpson and James Baker on it would be useless.

7. Jimmy Baker's principal loyalty has always been to the Sr. Bush
Yes, I know that he helped Bush get "elected" in 2000, but Baby Bush has his people and Bush Sr. has his people. They often do not see eye to eye.

10. Holy cow. That's one big FU to Baker.
If that is indeed the feeling in the Administration about the ISG and its recommendations then I fear this Administration is completely and totally unhinged. Its like they are driving the speeding train right off the cliff and don't give a damn. I really wonder how anyone is going to be able to talk some sense in Bush and his thugs. I thought for sure he would listen to the ISG ideas.

16. Tom Friedman may have been right this morning on Imus ...
It's going to take the Republicans in Congress, coming to the White House en masse, to tell Junior that, "it's over."

Either that, or enough of them making a deal with the Democratic majority to impeach his impudent ass.

18. Wait until ol' Jim Baker finds out Junior has 'dismissed him.'

I suspect Jim Baker is the wrong one to tell to "go back to your day job."

23. You can bet Baker knows where the bodies are buried ...
Hell, he probably put 'em there himself. Junior's being a wee bit sassy to the wrong person, I'd say.

21. 6 years ago this month, Baker's "day job" was making sure the votes weren't counted in Florida
so the little shit-head could be appointed to the office he couldn't win.

but I'll bet Baker is kicking himself since the kid has turned out to be such a disaster.
