Sheehan was HANDCUFFED and taken away.
The t-shirt, which she had been wearing all day, said "2245 Dead .. How Many More"

3. Wearing a t-shirt is unlawful conduct?
"Sheehan, who had been invited to attend the speech by Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., was charged with unlawful conduct, a misdemeanor, Capitol Police told NBC News. Sheehan was taken in handcuffs to police headquarters a few blocks away and her case was processed as Bush spoke."

11. She had a jacket over the t-shirt and opened it when she sat down.
Capitol police rushed to her to tell her to close her jacket and she refused.

The shirt didn't have obscene words or pictures. Just the facts. Free speech is dead.

7. Hey know what ....
"Police warned her that such displays were not allowed, but she did not respond, the spokeswoman said." -snip- ...... took that from the article you posted. Well another person who stood up for the truth and didn't say shit at one time was a guy named Jesus. Something about when he was accused, questioned and such that he opened not his mouth. I think it's a good sign .... there should be quite a bit of publicity out of this arrest of Cindy. And look how popular Jesus became after he didn't say shit!!!! Gotta love it. Peace. :)

Of course they did! She's a huge threat to the nation. She's scary and
dangerous. I'm surprised they let her in. What could be more dangerous than a grieving mother of fallen soldier. :sarcasm:

9. They Said They'd Release Her In An Hour
I guess wearing a T Shirt that is opposed to B* is illegal?

So much for first amendment

Arresting her?

How about telling her to leave, or asking her to change shirts (both of which I disagree with as well) But arresting her?????

Something is terribly wrong.

14. They did
They gave her an opportunity to put her black jacket back on. She refused, and refused to move. I don't think they should have said anything over a statement on her shirt anyway, but they did give her a chance to avoid arrest.

17. Freedom is on the march...unless you have a dissenting opinion.
Welcome to DU! We will rebuild the strength of this country. We have to.

Arresting Cindy was an incredibly bad move. Little Lord Pissypants crossed the line.

Peace.
