Is there any one person in the world you would follow if...?
they said a country had WMDs and we had to unilaterally invade their country to protect our nation? Would you believe this person or would you want a second opinion? Personally, I do not trust any one person on such a grave decision as going to war. I need to hear more facts. I want a consensus as much as possible.

But, Republicans seem to be different. They trust their leaders. They trust their President. They are willing to put lives on the line if the President says it is necessary. No matter if he has been proven to be an habitual liar, they trust him. What is wrong with people that cannot think for themselves? What mental deficiency were they born with that they would trust someone of such a caliber as George W Bush? I would not have trusted Clinton in the same situation. I question my leaders. I am not willing to send anyone to die on the words of one man...

1. Imagine
a world without TV. A world without instant "communication". A world free of information brokers bent on shaping society itself for their own gain.

2. I Want to Hear All Sides, Too

3. Hell, no...
One of my least attractive traits (at least according to both my wife and my ex) is that I like verification for just about EVERYTHING someone tells me, even if I know them personally. If something conflicts with something I believe to be true, I always want at least a second opinion, or a third. Especially if it's not something I can research on my own.

My ex found it a lot more offensive than my wife seems to. Then again, I think she's a lot more tolerant of my eccentricities than my ex was.

4. IF I would trust one person, it'd probably be Gore.
But even then I think I'd want conclusive data.

6. That is the trouble; few, if any, rethugs are sacrificing in any way,
certainly not with putting their lives on the line. I agree that I would trust Al Gore because I know that he would never knowingly risk the world with battle, unless he had serious info.

7. I ask for proof.
Edited on Thu Dec-07-06 05:44 PM by Gregorian
Not only did we not get proof, but we had Blix and Ritter, et al, telling us that the decade of crushing sanctions left them totally clean and free.

And then there is that other matter of imminent threat.

So really, I would need at least two puzzle pieces clearly presented. AND I would exhaust every avenue before after an actual imminent threat, in order to start military motions.

And I can say that war is almost never needed. I have to say almost. But even that is debatable.
