Poll question: Iraq: Give the Iraqi Govt. One More Chance vs. Bring the Troops Home Now. |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-07-06 05:23 PM by David Zephyr
OK. Where does the DU stand on this issue?
Is there something to be gained by keeping our troops in Iraq until 2008, to give the government there "one more chance" and a shot at stability and democracy?
Or
Is the presence of the U.S. Military a large part of the problem itself, the Iraqi people overwhelmingly want us to leave, our troops should not be cannon fodder for anymore of Bush's failed policies?

1. "... to be gained by keeping our troops in Iraq until 2008..." There is the |
|
election. The incumbents will claim credit for bringing them home. They are working on the commercials all ready.

3. Yeah, 2008. Hmmmm..... |
|
From the same James Baker who didn't want his report out "until after the election" so as to keep the "politics out of it". Yeah, right.

2. When 60+% of Iraqi's think it is their duty to kill US soldiers |
|
it's time to get out.
It took us 6 weeks to fight our way to Bagdad.
It should only take 4 weeks or less to get out.

4. Our Democrats are about to get sucked into approving the war... |
|
and thereby accepting responsibility for the failure of it.
