I've got a ticket to see George Carlin tonight at 8:00 ET. And Lewis Black on the 28th

This will be the first time i have ever seen Carlin live. I am very much looking forward to it. My only concern is the last HBO special wasn't that impressive. Lots of what i would call potty humor, really. I think he is one of the most brilliant comics and social commentators of our time, i just hope it is new stuff.

I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Mr. Black later in the month. Unfortunately, i think that is going to be the better show.

1. Carlin Seems Much More Bitter These Days...

He's gotten more and more harsh in his humor over the years.

I'd still take him over most comedians out there today. When he was good, he was Great.

He is an Atheist and a progressive, so what new material he has should be interesting, if he has a take on world events (which he has in the past)

Should be good. Luckily, the center is right up the street. Door to door in 5 minutes.

4. We saw Lewis last month.

We really like him a lot. We have all of his CD's and I get excited whenever he does bits on TDS. I have also see all of his HBO specials. We were disappointed in the live show. I think it was because we got lousy tickets and so we were up in the balcony. There was no screen showing his face and, in my opinion, one thing that makes Lewis so funny is how angry he gets and the look on his face as well as his use of his fingers. I would go to see him again if I could get tickets in the first twenty or so rows.

7. Funny you should mention seating.....

My seat fo Lewis is in the Mezz, but at this center it over hangs pretty well. I am still taking a small pair of Binoculars though!

Tonight, however i have an orchestra pit seat which means the stage will be 3 feet over my head and if he backs up ten feet from the front of the stage, all i'll see is his head! But I'll be close enough to count the wrinkles on his face.

9. Cool ... I saw Carlin maybe 30 yrs ago

I think he'd been smokin the 'realllllllly good stuff' before the performance ... but, so had we so the laid back, rather disjointed, performance was not a problem.

I'd imagine he's more focused these days ... age and maturity ... plus, he has strong feelings about this administration and the war. He's always been an observer of the absurd, so he's had plenty to draw from. Plan on cerebral and low key. Let us know how it was.

Lewis Black should be a total hoot and a whole different bag of chips.
