Just discovered a blog: We Have Failed

Yes, yes, there are millions of blogs, but this one caught my attention while checking linkbacks in my server logs, and actually held my attention (no small feat, as blogs go). Anti-war, anti-*, pro-gay, pro-troops, and (I'm guessing here) liberal Christian -- and out of IDAHO, of all places!

I mention it because I figure a true progressive (I repeat: out of IDAHO) deserves all the support she (yes, the blogger's a woman -- double brownie points) can get:

Thanks for all those wonderful things you said! I truly cannot say how much it means to me, because it's really hard to be one of the few liberal Democrats in Idaho -- where most folks are still staggeringly stupid and giving Bush a 57% approval rate. Some of us Idaho blues were talking about that (I think at KOS) and something was said about what is in the water we drink. The response was that it's not the water... it's just that some of us don't eat paste...!

Yeah, I'm way out here in BFE, surrounded by reds. I started the blog because I just didn't have too many people who I could talk to, and I needed to get it out somehow!

Yes, I am anti-war (I'm also a member of Gold Star Families for Peace... if you don't know what that is, please ask!) and VERY much pro-troops (my brother was killed in Iraq 9-3-04, which pretty much explains the Gold Star Family question!). I'm very much pro-equal rights, and anti-hypocrisy. I don't know quite how to describe my spirituality but I feel that I'm more in line with what Jesus and God wants from us than many of those talking-head Christians I keep hearing screech at me... I post a lot about my spirituality and my frustration with so-called Christians and politicians who try to manipulate the population through fear and guilt.

I blog because members of my home church have rejected me (yeah, the church of Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors... go figure!), members of my family feel that I dishonor my brother by questioning and challenging the administration (I was DELIBERATELY not invited to meet with Bush when he was in Idaho and met with other family members of KIAs--gee, guess how I feel about THAT snub!), and I got tired of screaming at Bush on TV all by myself. I needed to find people who also knew who Jon Stewart and Bill Maher are!

So I started blogging and started getting to know lots of others throughout Idaho and the US who feel the way I do. It's been AWESOME!

And, as a result of a DUer stumbling upon MY site, I've now found this and -- OF COURSE I JOINED!!

So, I hope folks stop by and check out the different postings on my site. Some are funny, some express my anger, some are just passing on info. But it's all me, just lookin' for someone to talk to...

There is a scholarship for a poly sci student set up in his name at our local community college (that's what his major was when he attended CSI and BSU). I fantasize that someday one of the scholarship recipients will "grow up" and help lead our country into prosperity and peace. Silly, I know, but it helps me sleep at night!!

We DO honor the troops, don't we! That is one of my hot buttons, when I am accused of not supporting the troops... gee, just because I think the people who are sending them to their deaths are wasting the lives of our loyal soldiers for personal profit and hidden agendas? Sue me. I would like any person who supports this war to go with the chaplain to the visit to the mother and THEN tell me why we are there and why it is all worth it. I can still hear my mother's screams.
