What part of social engineering do people not get. Yes, the cold war ended so the military-industrial complex NEEDED a new ENEMY. This time they decided to be non-specific and set about on the Medieval Quest starting with Iraq. That is why this retarded ad for ShoTime's "sleeper cell American terra" so pisses me off. Again and again every solid day for five solid years an American can not get through an entire day without being broadcast to about the terror threat. That is not a constructive society, it is Pavlov and his on command salivating dogs.

Most of us know that the "war on terror" is a nonsensical phrase, yet as long as our propaganda publicists keep throwing it at us, we will have to endure.

The part where they think they are too smart to ever fall for it.
No one wants to believe they've been manipulated. Denial is integral to the process of indoctrination
Besides, when you've been so completely conditioned to accept the conditioning, how would you know you're being conditioned? Disinformation is handy for this...
Welcome to DU!
You make an excellent point.

While on my way to the dump I heard an ad for "sleeper cell" on the radio. "The show the New York Times says is better than 24" they said. Ya, the New York Times, that bastion of liberal left wing thought, the redstaters call it. But here we have a critic endorsing the meme of terra, endorsing the GWOT. Both left and right are endorsing torture, rendition flights and the accelleration of the destruction of basic rights. Why even the dump Nazis have to look at your trash to make sure I'm not throwing out "prohibited" stuff. Does anybody have any long range memory? What was it, September? The ABC show about 911? Because this does not portray an icon of the left in a bad light there is no "controversy"? This is a show about the bullshit war on terra and if we don't start calling them on it, it will go on and on and on right up until the US Army runs out of bullets after declaring war on the country they OUTSOURCED the bullet factory to!

11. I saw a blurb for the show -don't recall where |
|
and my reaction was a grimace. Precisely because it is social engineering. It is acclimating people to the idea of terror, terror, terror... learn it, live it, love it.
And with that thinking comes the monkey on the back thinking...erosion of rights necessary and acceptable, constant war to combat terror a necessary evil (don't you just love that one? necessary evil), distrust/anger of/at those who dissent patriotic and good, fear of those "different" "to be expected"...all things are good and proper in the name of national security (torture, illegal indefinite detentions)...and the younger you are, this "reality" becomes the "way it's always been" (indoctrination successful)

12. The singular most important thing |

that made America great was the promise, the hope that anyone could be great. With that meme gone, erased forever what is our "future".

People en mass rejected OJ Simpson and his book deal, why don't they have the intelligence to reject this same sort of crap. Charolette Iserbyte must be right.

15. it's not gone so much as corrupted |
|
But it was corrupted by those who use it as a carrot to dangle in front of people to achieve compliance and obedience...instead of seeking to achieve greatness.
If you do this and that, and if you believe this and that, and if you act this way - then you can be great. But the behaviors and actions were all designed to gear people toward a certain way of thinking that promoted an agenda that had nothing to do with achieving greatness but instead guaranteed acceptance of what those in power said was the "American way"
Because when people weren't "great" by the standard set forth - then it had to be the people's fault..they didn't comply, they didn't work hard enough...they didn't do whatever...and that's why
It leaves no room for factors like discrimination and lack of opportunity. Those who would seek to protect their status quo, will seek to limit others.
The "promise" is still there...and it's very ingrained in American mythology and culture....what we have to do is allow the promise to breathe, free of the pollutants.

17. The destruction today |
|
though is far too frequent and focused to not be a designed series of events. The social engineering in the "terra" theme is evidence. One can not listen, watch, read anything free of this meme in any 24 hour "news" cycle. The decency and traditions of the American family are also under constant assault. Education has become indoctrination. Computers and technology are increasingly used for the sole purpose of surveillance. They are attacking the culture, the globalists that is. I'm just trying to figure out how much time do we have.

the censorship is a slippery slope thing. My wish is for a rejection by society. After I got to learn enough German language some aspects of their culture were by American standards boring. There were no shoot em up high drama spy movies but then again most of their population possesed the mental age of an adult.

16. I watched Sleeper Cell last season... |
|
and enjoyed it for the suspence, the characters and the story line. It's a spy thriller like many others. Over-the-top TV like most over-the-top TV. I understand your outrage (to a degree) but sometimes a miniseries is just a miniseries. I'm not too upset by this - it is fiction, after all.

...because I'm somewhat MIHOP myself, but I just try to shut all that out, forget the politics and enjoy the story -- plus the acting is good. I like that the FBI infiltrator is portrayed as a devout Muslim, so that balance is provided, plus I think it's really interesting that the guy who plays the baddest terrorist is in actuality an Israeli, I believe. It's just kind of interesting to me.
But I'm not out to change anybody's mind, and it doesn't offend me in any way if people don't want to watch.
